Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards’ estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky’s, family drama heated up in court this week, In Touch can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Mauricio’s sister, Sharon Umansky Benton, was granted a permanent restraining order against their 81-year-old father Eduardo Umanksy‘s girlfriend, Simin Tabibni.
At a recent hearing, the judge heard testimony from Sharon, 52, and Simin, 68. Lawyers for the parties introduced video and photo evidence to back up their claims.
After hearing both sides and reviewing the evidence, the judge granted Sharon a five-year restraining order which will expire in 2029. Simin was ordered not to harass, intimidate, assault or stalk Sharon. She was ordered to stay 100 yards away from Sharon.
As In Touch first reported, the drama between Mauricio, 54, Sharon and Simin has been going on for months.
Back in August, Maurico and Sharon filed to place Eduardo under a conservatorship. The duo claimed Eduardo was being taken advantage of by his girlfriend. “[Eduardo] is unable to resist undue influence and fraud and has been taken advantage of by his girlfriend. Over the court of the past eighteen months, [Eduardo] and [Mauricio and Sharon] have discovered that she has taken, secreted and appropriated more than $260,000 from [Eduardo] through undue influence, whether physical or emotional and/or fraud,” the petition read.
“During this time, [Eduardo] has written more than $260,000 worth of checks to his girlfriend for no reason other than she wanted it. In addition to those checks, there are an additional nearly $100,000 in expenses that have not [been] explained,” the brother and sister said in their court filing.
Mauricio said Eduardo was unable to stop “this abuse and behavior” on his own.
The court granted the petition this week, noting Mauricio and Sharon had presented sufficient evidence that a conservatorship of Eduardo’s estate was necessary. Sharon and Simin also filed petitions seeking restraining orders against the other. Sharon claimed Simin had physically attacked her during a recent encounter.
Sharon wrote, “[Simin] keeps him isolated, so I have been trying to visit more often which is why this is happening more. She hides his phone from him and is abusive to him as well but he is old and afraid to be alone and she claims to have some kind of evidence against him for some reason so he stays with her.”
She continued, “I don’t know what all that is but she is attempting to keep me away from my father while she convinces him to give her all his money.”
Sharon said she filed a police report on September 17. “The evidence will show that [Simin] has also repeatedly threatened and engaged in credible threats of violence or engages conduct that not only is physical violence but mentally disturbing on a repeated basis,” the filing read.
In her petition, Simin accused Sharon of being the one who got physical. Simin claimed Sharon had “grabbed” her and “shoved” her to the ground when they saw each other recently.
Simin denied she was keeping Eduardo isolated from his friends and family or that she was taking advantage of Eduardo.
She said Sharon never had a close relationship with her father. She believed she was trying to now due to “financial considerations.” Simin said Eduardo told Sharon he was thinking about marrying Simin three years ago. She said this caused a “troubling” reaction from Sharon.
Simin’s filing also alleged, “On another recent occasion, [Sharon] communicated to [Simin] that she plans on ensuring that her mother (who was divorced from her father many years ago) obtain a large portion of his asset and for [Simin] to get nothing.”
She continued, “Recently, [Simin] was reliably informed that said ex-wife has, quite incredibly, attempted to engage in renewed sexual relations with the father, some 30 years after their divorce. Additionally, and in spite of [Simin’s] pleading that they cease their interference in [Simin’s] relationship with the father, [Sharon] and her mother have engaged in a persistent pattern of slandering [Simin] to various third parties. Their conduct has not only hurt [Simin], but damaged her name and career.”
Simin’s request for a restraining order was denied.
As In Touch first reported, on top of his split from Kyle, 55, Mauricio is dealing with a federal lawsuit over PPP loans his real estate company obtained. He denied all allegations of wrongdoing and moved to dismiss the case. A judge has yet to rule.
