Hollywood legend’s handsome son, 24, shows off model looks in rare red carpet appearance

Every now and then, a nepo baby emerges from the private cocoon their parents have so carefully created and shock us all with their Hollywood good looks. This 24-year-old is no different.

On Thursday night, appearing at the red carpet premiere of the new TV show, The Agency, was a tall, dark-haired man, whose mum starred alongside Timothy Dalton in the James Bond flick Licence to Kill, while dad has one of the most infamous films around.

Taking to the carpet in a dapper navy suit and crisp white shirt casually unbuttoned, Homer James Jigme Gere turned heads as he posed up a storm with his famous father, Richard Gere.

Born in 2000 to Richard and his second ex-wife Carey Lowell, Homer may have been a natural on the carpet, but it seems the acting legacy has other dreams for his career after recently graduating from Brown University, an Ivy League school with a major in psychology and visual art.

Enjoying a night out at the New York premiere of Richard’s new show, Homer looked in good spirits as he posed for photos both by himself and with his arm around Richard, who was wearing a matching suit.

Richard and Carey welcomed their only son together during their lengthy relationship, with a source telling People magazine at the time, ‘Richard is over the moon and Carey’s in good shape’. They added: ‘[Richard] said you can’t even understand it until you experience it yourself.’

The former couple first began dating in 1996 after Carey watched him in An Officer and quickly fell for his charm. After dating for six years, they wed in a private ceremony at their New York home in 2002. However, following almost two decades together, the pair separated in 2013 and officially divorced in 2016.

Despite their split, the former couple continued to co-parent. Richard and Homer appear to have a good relationship to this day, laughing together as they spoke to the media on the carpet.

The Pretty Woman star was also seen looking on as the proud father of his eldest son. Richard shares Alexander, six, and James, four, with his wife, Spanish publicist Alejandra Silva, who also accompanied him to the premiere.

The couple was seen sharing a sweet moment of public affection last night at the Museum of Modern Art. Alejandra hugged her husband from behind and lovingly laid her head on his shoulder.

Richard’s co-stars in the thriller TV series, Michael Fassbender, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Jeffrey Wright, were also attending the special night.

The Paramount Plus series, produced by George Clooney and Grant Heslov, is said to be a ‘fresh take’ on the critically acclaimed French series Le Bureau des Légendes, which aired between 2015 and 2020.

A synopsis for the series says it ‘follows Martian (Fassbender), a covert CIA agent, ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station.’

‘When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites. His career, his real identity and his mission are pitted against his heart; hurling them both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage.’

The Agency is available to watch on sky.com and BBC iPlayer.
