Emily Simpson is firing back at claims made by Katie Ginella‘s daughter, Kaili.
After Kaili appeared on a podcast, claiming Emily, 48, and Shane Simpson welcomed her back to their home to babysit their kids after the children allegedly told Emily that Kaili said Heather Dubrow, 55, was “mean,” the Real Housewives of Orange County cast member reacted to the suggestion with a series of posts on her Instagram Story.
“Emily, I know that she said that they came back and told her saying like, I was talking bad about Heather and that her and Shane said like, she can never babysit for us again.’ Then why did they have me back watching their kids two nights later, an entire weekend? I don’t know why I’d lie about that like I said on the show. I just thought it was funny,” Katie explained on the AllAboutTRH Podcast, via Instagram.
Although Emily suspected that Katie and Kaili were attempting to portray her in a negative light as a parent, Kaili insisted that was not true, saying, “I don’t really see why that’s making her look bad.”
“I think she’s a good mom. I didn’t think it was that serious,” Kaili continued. “So I feel bad that if she really did feel that way. But I did not lie. It’s just kids say like, they’re very, her kids are really smart, too, like impressively smart. They’re just observant.”
Following the podcast episode, AllAboutTRH shared a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, in which they stated that Emily was “absolutely lying” when she denied Kaili was asked to return to her and Shane’s home.
“Emily is absolutely lying about this story regarding Kaili on our podcast where she says she was asked to come back and babysit — why would Emily ask her to come back if her boys claimed that Kaili is the one who said Heather is mean?” they asked. “Emily needs to own the fact that we all know she doesn’t like Heather and says it around her house.”
After seeing the message, Emily shared a screenshot on her Instagram Story, along with a stern reaction.
“Kaili NEVER babysat my kids again after that weekend!! Wtf,” she wrote. “Plus after last [night’s] episode it’s pretty clear which parent talks crap about Heather with her kids. And it’s not me. ”
In another couple of posts shared on her Instagram Story, Emily noted that Shane did not want to invite Kaili back to babysit and explained when the babysitting took place.
“Just to clarify: after she babysat the kids for a weekend, Shane said: ‘this involves kids don’t bring it up and we won’t use her again.’ We never used her again after that,” she wrote in one post.
“Also … fun fact … the weekend Kaili stayed with my kids was a couple days after we filmed the golf outing where Heather got into it with Katie over the paparazzi accusation,” she added in another, which included a telling message from an RHOC viewer.
“The fact that Katie’s six-year-old son is talking about Heather being a jerk just makes me believe Emily and not Katie — the obsession Katie seems to have with [Heather Dubrow] to the point her own kids are aware of it is just weird af at this point,” the person noted.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 18 reunion begins Thursday, November 7, at 9/8c on Bravo.
