Rock legend Rod Stewart is set to grace the Glastonbury stage in 2025, taking on the festival's prestigious legends slot, 23 years after his last performance there.
Having previously headlined the festival in 2002, Rod is the first confirmed act for Glastonbury 2025, which is scheduled to take place at Worthy Farm in Somerset from 25 to 29 June.
As one of the world's best-selling artists, he'll join the ranks of Dolly Parton, Barry Gibb, Shania Twain, and Kylie Minogue, who have all previously delighted fans during the coveted Sunday teatime slot.
This announcement follows Stewart's recent revelation that he plans to retire from "large-scale world tours" by the end of 2025.
At 79, Stewart expressed his excitement about the upcoming show, stating he's "proud, ready and more than able to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury" come next June.
The Sunday afternoon slot is renowned for attracting one of the largest audiences at the festival, and Sir Rod will make history as the first artist to have both headlined and received the legends billing.
Speculation abounds regarding other potential headliners, with names like Sam Fender, Olivia Rodrigo, Stevie Wonder, Eminem, and Charli XCX all rumoured to be performing.
The past year's festival saw performances by Dua Lipa and SZA, who made their debut at the top of the bill, while Coldplay delivered a record-breaking sixth headline show.
