TV star Ruth Langsford has broken her silence on her 'painful' divorce with Eamonn Holmes.
The Loose Women panelist, 65, and GB News presenter, also 65, sent shockwaves through the showbiz world last May when they announced that they were that they were going their separate ways after 14 years of marriage and 27 years together.
Now, eight months after their split, Ruth has said that she doesn't want to end up alone after Eamonn moved on soon after with his new girlfriend, Katie Alexander. Ruth also explained that her recent weight loss is down to the stress of her split with Eamonn and their ongoing divorce.
The TV star told Woman and Home Magazine: "A break-up of a relationship is hard enough for anybody to deal with. A divorce is very difficult and it’s very painful, but most people don’t have to do it in the public eye, with everybody having an opinion about you and writing things about you and commenting things about you.

I’m quite fine being on my own, but not forever. When you’re in a relationship, it’s easy to say, ‘Great, I’ve got a weekend to myself,’ but when you think that might be every weekend, it’s a different story."
Opening up about her recent weight loss, Ruth said: "I have lost weight. Divorce obviously has something to do with it but I also went for a hormone check and rebalance, which helped. It could also hopefully mean that I’m coming to the end of menopause."
Since confirming her split from Eamonn back in May, Ruth has been positively glowing, and it’s not just a change in lifestyle that's caught the eye. The presenter has reportedly lost an impressive stone and a half since the breakup. Fans on Instagram haven't missed a beat, showering her with praise for her transformation.
Known for being open about her weight and diet, Ruth’s recent social media posts have given followers a peek at her "healthier" approach to the year, showcasing lunches filled with boiled eggs, turkey, and salad, along with her homemade green juice routine featuring ginger, spinach, cucumber, pineapple, apple, and water. "I take this to work most days," Ruth explained to her followers, insisting it helps her avoid processed foods.
"[It] stops me grabbing unhealthy, processed food. Even when you make a healthy choice and buy a salad, in my experience, they're mostly leaves. This way you get a good, decent portion salad and you get to put all the things you like in it! ENJOY!"
Since her split from Eamonn, Ruth has stayed single, while he has found new love with 42-year-old relationship counsellor Katie. During a light moment on Loose Women, Ruth recently addressed her divorce in a candid confession.
In a conversation about encountering an ex at family gatherings, she remarked: "I think it's very selfish when you hear parents say, 'Well if they are divorced then, I'm not coming to your wedding if he's coming' or 'If she is there' and I just think it's so selfish isn't it, because it is their day."
