Loose Women icon Ruth gave a small glimpse of sympathy towards former husband Eamonn Holmes after his GB News co-host was switched up at the very last second in a surprise move
Eamonn Holmes shares tennis story about his ex-wifeRuth Langsford has shown her support for ex-husband Eamonn Holmes in a rare moment.
Former This Morning presenters Ruth and Eamonn, both 65, are continuing their divorce from each other after the couple shockingly split back in May. Since then, the pair have gone on their own career journeys, with Ruth returning to Loose Women after two months away.
But Eamonn, who returned to work just two days after the announcement was made, has had a bombshell dropped on him as his GB News co-star Isabel Webster would be leaving him. The announcement was made on Thursday (December 19), leaving viewers and co-stars stunned.
Northern Irish star Eamonn is reported to have been blindsided by the shock announcement, after he had worked with Isabel every day for three years on their show. While the presenter did not confirm it was her final ever show, she took to social media to confirm she would not be back on screens for the rest of the year.
"Final show from us for 2024," Isabel wrote as she uploaded a snap of her and Eamonn,."Thanks for your company this year." She added: See you soon! Merry Christmas - I hope you all find some peace and joy."
The post was liked by Ruth. It comes after Eamonn expressed his own sympathies for Ruth after mum Joan, 93, suffered from a fall.
Taking to her own Instagram page, Ruth shared a snap of her in the emergency department, writing: "Hospital visit… thank you all so much for your lovely messages and well wishes for my darling Mum. She’ll be in hospital for a bit longer yet, but she’s in pretty good spirits considering and I hope she’ll be home for Christmas."
Eamonn shared his support for Ruth by liking the post from his former wife as the pair continue to get through their divorce. He is also trying to move past Ruth as he continues to grow close with his new love Katie Alexander, 43.
The moves were made in the wake of GB News seemingly excluding Isabel Webster from the schedule for 2025. Instead, Eamonn will be presenting the breakfast show on the controversial news channel alongside Ellie Costello.
New recruit Ellie will be hosting the show five days a week, with Eamonn co-presenting alongside her on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday and Friday's schedules will then see Ellie present the news with former Sky News host Stephen Dixon.
Stephen, who currently presents the breakfast show on the weekend together with BBC veteran Anne Diamond, will continue to host his regular slot on Saturday and Sunday. It is not currently known what Isabel's plans are after she leaves the station, but previously wished Eamonn and Ruth well as they embarked on their separation.
