Rylan reveals he is taller than Gary Barlow's eldest as Take That star's 'huge son' goes viral

TV presenter Rylan Clark has joined the commentary over the height of Gary Barlow's son after a family photo went viral this week.

A photo of Daniel Barlow, 24, with his family has gone viral this week. It shows him beside his parents Gary, 53, and Dawn Barlow, 54, as well as one of his sisters. It is said to have originally been posted by Take That member Gary to mark Father's Day last year but has now prompted memes.

Gary barely reaches his son's shoulders in the photo, which has already amassed millions of views on X, formerly known as Twitter, alone. It's thought that Daniel is 6ft 2in tall, whilst his father Gary is believed to stand at around 5ft 8in tall.

The photo has prompted much reaction on social media and led to articles about other stars whose kids tower over them. The discussion has included memes and jokes about Daniel's height, and commentary from celebrities.

Rylan, 36 - who was judged by Gary when he competed on the X Factor in 2012 - has been among those commenting. The presenter - who has previously confirmed that he boasts a height of 6ft 4in himself - tweeted on Thursday: "I'm two inches taller than Gary Barlow's son." He included a gif of a giant pair of legs walking down a street in the post.

The tweet has over 100,000 views and amassed more than two thousand likes on the platform. Some fans were amused by his reaction, with one writing: "Hilarious." Another wrote alongside laughing emojis: "I'm dying." Whilst someone said: "Wow random facts with Rylan." Not everyone seemed amused though and amid the discussion one fan said: "It's like people haven't seen tall people before."

Rylan isn't the only celebrity to have joined the commentary about the height of Gary's son. Former footballer Ian Wright, 61, showed the family photo to colleagues on the Stick to Football podcast, brought to you by SkyBet.

The pundit initially approached Roy Keane, 53, and said: "Have you seen the size of [Gary's] son?" Laughing, Ian added: "Look at the size of him." He went on to show the photo to Jill Scott, 37. She responded: "Shut up. No way. How tall is he? [...] "Maybe [Gary's] shrunk over the years?"

Ian continued to comment on the photo before discussion about football got underway, saying: "Look at him." He added: "He should be playing basketball. He's like a giant. Look at the size of him. I can't believe how big he is. He's a giant. Jesus, I love that picture. He's massive, he's so big."
