Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is spending his first Thanksgiving behind bars after being charged with a number of crimes including sex trafficking and racketeering.

The disgraced musician, who is also known as P. Diddy, has been in jail since September following his arrest in New York. He has plead not guilty to all the charges made against him and has vehemently denied doing any wrongdoing. Combs is being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn - where he recently spent his 55th birthday.

He is expected to remain behind bars until his trial begins, which has been scheduled for May next year. Combs will spend his first holiday in jail this Thursday as America celebrates Thanksgiving. It is a national holiday to give thank for the year's harvest and blessings.

A Metropolitan Detention Center representative has revealed Combs will be having a Thanksgiving meal for lunch. Breakfast will start at 6am and include fruit, cereal and pastries. The inmates will be served their choice of turkey roast or hot and sour tofu for lunch at 11am, according to the New York Post.

They will get to have sides such as mashed potatoes, vegetables, cranberry sauce, turkey gravy, two rolls with margarine and an assortment of holiday pies. At 4pm, inmates will get the choice of chicken breast sandwich or a chickpea burger that come with steamed rice, pinto beans and corn for sides. There will also be "a variety of events, activities and tournaments available to our incarcerated population". It includes card games, dominos, three-on-three basketball and a soccer tournament.

Combs is in the 4 North unit of Metropolitan Detention Centre (MDC) in Brooklyn, according to US media. It is thought the dorm facility has leaner rules than the general population confinement and inmates are able to pass the time playing air hockey and are treated to more appetising meals.

On Friday, Combs made a third attempt to secure bail - which he was hoping to land by requesting a $50 million (£40 million) agreement. He stood before a federal judge in New York and was greeted in the court room by members of his family - including his mother Janice, 83, who was wearing sunglasses, adopted son Quincy, 33, Justin, 30, King, Chance, 18 and his twin daughters D'Lila and Jessie, 17.

Combs pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a three-count indictment which accuses him of using his business, including Bad Boy Entertainment, to transport male and female sex workers across state lines for sexual activities known as "freak offs". A lawyer for the star has hit back at the accusations, telling The Mirror previously: "As Mr. Combs’ legal team has emphasized, he cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus.

"That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors. He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.”
