Will & Grace star Sean Hayes was recently hospitalised twice in one night with a recurring "heart issue."
Hayes' health struggle was shared on his podcast SmartLess co-hosted with Will Arnett and Jason Bateman, with special guest Hugh Grant.
Grant, 64, was discussing his dislike of travel and in particular jet-lag, quipping that he "can't do it anymore".

"I think that's another age thing. I woke up hours ago very, very hungry and felt like my heart is made of Play-Doh," he said.
It was then that Arnett told Grant about Hayes' recent health scare.
"Sean, two, three nights ago, woke up in the middle of the night with a heart issue, drove himself to Cedars-Sinai [Medical Center]—didn't wake up his husband," Arnett, 54, said.
He explained that once Hayes made it to hospital paddles were used on his heart under anesthesia, then claimed that Hayes simply drove himself home.

Concerningly, the problem reoccurred.
"An hour later, he woke up to use the bathroom again and drove himself back to Cedars and got paddled again," Arnett said.
Hayes added: "And then we had dinner that night."
Arnett explained that he wasn't trying to make Grant feel bad about his experience with jet lag by comparison, to which the Love Actually star replied: "But no, you are and I just feel humiliated."
Grant was on the episode to promote his new movie Heretic.
Hayes has previously explained he suffers from atrial fibrillation which is an irregular heart rhythm that can cause fatigue, heart palpitations, trouble breathing and dizziness.
He told Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2021 he feels like "Norm from Cheers" when it comes to the hospital emergency room because he's "there all the time" adding that the paddles "zap you back into regular rhythm."

In 2017 Hayes told The Ellen DeGeneres Show he had also been hospitalised for a rare condition which saw his small intestine burst. Hayes was meant to have appeared on the show two weeks earlier but was forced to delay due to the medical emergency.
"I went to bed at night and all of a sudden I felt this excruciating pain in my stomach," he said at the time.
"I went to the ER and thank God I did. I had a very rare thing where my small intestine burst open, and it was poisoning my body."
Hayes said he underwent a procedure to "clip off the bad part" and was given a lot of medication during it.

"Scottie, my husband, was in the room with me. I hung up the phone and he was like, 'What's wrong with you? You can't do the 'Ellen' show on Monday. Are you high?' And I'm like, 'Yeah, I'm really high. Are you high?'" he said.
Sean Hayes found fame playing Jack McFarland on Will & Grace from 1998 until 2006 and then returned for the reboot from 2017 until 2020.
Hayes and his husband Scott Icenogle have been married since 2014.
