Weekend Wishlist: Our pre-Black Friday favourites from Boots, River Island and more

Uncork the wine, stick the kettle on (whichever you prefer) and get the takeaway order ready as the weekend is finally here, meaning we can indulge in some rest and relaxation. With Black Friday and payday just one week away, it also means we can get our shopping baskets ready and prepare to indulge in some retail therapy - especially with some brands having already launched some epic deals ahead of time.

With Christmas on the horizon and the release of a pretty Wicked new film, our Weekend Wishlist list week contains sparkles from Very, festive Champagne glasses from Oliver Bonas, tools and products to give your hair a gorgeous boost from HASK and Shark as well as some cosy PJs from Pour Moi.

And with Black Friday landing on November 29 - some retailers having already started its discounts early - we've got a pretty mammoth list of items we're coveting in the lead up to the shopping event. So, without further ado, let's dive in.

Lorraine Kelly's River Island midi skirt - £30

Television presenter Lorraine Kelly was flooded with compliments after wearing this Beige Floral Mesh Midi Skirt from River Island on her ITV show last week. Coming in at £30 the midi skirt is made from a figure-hugging mesh fabric, featuring an all over rose design in the perfect colour palette for Autumn.

Customers can either pair it with something in their existing wardrobe, with Lorraine wearing hers with a mulberry cashmere cardigan, or snap up the matching Beige Floral Mesh Ruched Top for £28. Fans couldn’t stop praising her look, hailing it as ‘lovely’ and ‘very stylish’, though unfortunately, River Island’s website doesn’t have any reviews from shoppers, which can sometimes make ordering online a bit of a gamble.

It’s currently available in all sizes from 6-18, and as proven by 64-year-old Lorraine, is perfect for women of all ages. You can buy the skirt for £30 here.

Very Wide Leg Sequin Joggers - £32, was £40

If you were to say the words ‘sequin joggers’ to me, I wouldn’t necessarily scramble to add them to my basket - but don’t be too dismissive, because these Wide Leg Sequin Joggers from the V by Very x Carol Byrne collection are actually a dream come true for those who prioritise comfort this Christmas party season.

Priced at £32, down from £40, they’re the ultimate alternative to jeans for those looking for a little extra sparkle in their outfits. It comes as a nationwide survey by fashion retailer Very.co.uk has revealed the majority of surveyed (41%) describe their personal style as ‘comfortable and relaxed’.

The glitzy joggers are currently trending with Very shoppers with one calling them “beautiful” and noting that they’re slightly oversized, commenting: “Big fitting so have returned for a smaller size, beautiful soft fabric inside.” Another added: "Thankfully I saw a TikTok of a woman wearing these because you wouldn't know how fabulous they are from the pics online, absolutely stunning and such a statement. Very comfy like a tracksuit pants with a string to tighten, I'm 5'8 and would need to wear heels so run quite long. Only a thin lining inside, I don't find it uncomfortable but some might.” Buy them here.

Raya Peach Glass Champagne Saucers Set of Four - £29.50

This set of four Champagne saucers are so sophisticated and are a great pick if you’re hosting Christmas dinner or get-togethers and want to deliver elegant vibes. Costing less than £30, the set features a subtle ribbed pattern and peach coloured stems, and are great for toasting with a glass of fizz, or for serving cocktails. Equally, they make a lovely gift for your mixology-loving friends, or someone who’s recently moved into a new home.

Commenting on the glasses , one shopper wrote: “Beautiful quality champagne coupe glasses! Got them as an engagement present for my sister and her fiancé and they loved them - also loved the fact they can use them for espresso martinis!” Another added: “Very elegant and fine glass bowls. Goes especially well with Rosé Champagne,” while a third penned: “Stunning glasses. Look more expensive than they are. Perfect wedding gift or treat for self!”

However, one said they were ‘a little thinner than expected’. They added: “Two of them have a visibly less defined swirly pattern than the others which makes it a little bit of an uneven set, even with knowing they are never going to be exactly alike. I’m obsessed with Katie Jane Hughes’ TikTok content and feel like I learn something new about makeup application after every single one - even as a beauty writer. The haul features the award winning Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Face Cleanser 200ml, alongside two pure cotton cloths, which would usually be £33 - just £5 less than the entire set. HASK hair care for curls

As someone with a mass of frizzy curls, II'm hoping these HASK hair care products will be reduced in the Black Friday sales next week because, while they're not exactly expensive (most products are under a tenner), they leave my unruly tresses silky smooth, actually curling (with minimal styling involved) and I'm needing the stock up to ensure I never run out.

The conditioner contains a gorgeous blend of coconut oil, argan oil and vitamin E to inject some hydration into your dry, curly locks while protecting your curl texture from damage and frizz. Plus, it smells divine.

With the cold weather well and truly here, it seems like everyone is jumping on the borg bandwagon with gilets, jackets and fleeces featuring this finish flying off shelves into the wardrobes of fashion fans. It's a trend I can certainly get on board with as I have been eyeing up this beautiful crew neck borg coat from Nobody's Child since it recently dropped because it just looks so unbelievably cosy whilst also oozing winter elegance.

Gold Copenhagen Necklace from Hey Harper - £30, was £59

As a gold jewellery girly, I am often on the lookout for new pieces that can add some character, sass and charm to my ever growing collection. And as soon as I spotted Hey Harper's 50% off Black Friday sale from a (well placed) ad my wishlist grew tenfold with earrings (particular these funky Dazzling ones, now £33 from £65), rings (the Daphne, now £29, has me obsessed), and of course necklaces in the mix.

While I love a dainty, birthstone necklace as much as the next gal, I've been after a good quality chunky chain for quite some time and as soon as I spotted the Copenhagen necklace on Hey Harper's website, I was head over heels. Now costing £30 down from £59, the Copenhagen is a chunky, well-spaced out chain that is the perfect marriage of bold and beautifully brash with sophistication. A real statement, it's made from 14K gold PBD and is not only durable but waterproof too - you can wear it in the shower, on a swim, during a workout... and it claims not to fade.

Plus, unlike many chain necklaces, its length is relatively long - 54cm. Ideal for wearing over shirts, jumpers and more.

I don't know about you, but with the temperatures dropping, all I want to do is snuggle up in my Silentnight electric blanket with my fluffiest PJs on - and this cosy fleece sweatshirt and jogger set from Pour Moi, £39, will help do exactly that.
