She sold her 'rare' Chiefs jacket for just $169.... to Taylor Swift!

AKansas City Chiefs fan recently discovered that her cherished childhood Chiefs varsity jacket found its way into the hands of pop icon Taylor Swift.

TikTok user @courttokslol, who goes by Court, shared the surreal story of how her family had sold the rare jacket on eBay back in August - only to spot Swift wearing it at a Chiefs game on November 4, where she was supporting her boyfriend and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Court, a longtime Swiftie herself, said she initially didn't think much of it when she saw photos of Swift in a vintage Chiefs jacket. But as she looked closer, she noticed something that made her heart skip.

"We sold it this past August, so it's definitely cool to see how many months are going into the planning of each of these outfits that she's wearing," Court explained on TikTok.

"It's definitely a rare jacket... I think ours was the only one on eBay at the time when we listed it."

The one-of-a-kind piece didn't just stand out to Swift's stylist - it caught Court's eye too because of its distinctive details.

After selling it to a buyer in California, she saw the same unique fold in the fabric in photos of Swift at the game, confirming it was indeed her jacket.

Swift had paired the Chiefs bomber with relaxed Agolde denim shorts, a black top, a Dior saddle bag, and thigh-high Christian Louboutin boots, turning the throwback jacket into an instant fashion moment.

Why sell the jacket?

Court quickly took to TikTok to field questions from fans who were eager to learn more about the sale, the jacket, and why she parted with it.

As she explained, the jacket no longer fit, and with a pending move, selling it on eBay just made sense.

She sold it for $169, but joked, "A few people told me I should've priced it higher, but obviously, when we listed it, we had no idea who would be buying it."

She and her family, who have been listing items on eBay for a while, are now watching every future sale a bit more closely.

"We have a few other Chiefs items listed and you better believe we'll be watching for Taylor's stylist's name every time we sell one!" Court told PEOPLE, sharing her excitement at the unexpected connection.

A Swiftie's dream come true

In her initial TikTok, Court, proudly sporting Swift merchandise, described her reaction as disbelief when she first noticed Swift wearing a jacket that looked exactly like the one she and her family had sold.

Though the buyer's name wasn't Taylor Swift, a closer look confirmed it had been purchased by Swift's stylist, hinting that the pop superstar herself may have been the intended recipient.

"It's so crazy, and awesome to know they're reusing old, vintage pieces," Court remarked. For her, a longtime Chiefs fan and dedicated Swiftie, seeing her jacket become a part of Swift's now-iconic game day style is a memory she'll never forget.
