According to a 2019 report by the Mirror, Cowell managed to lose the initial 20 pounds through adopting a nearly vegan diet after a fall in 2017 caused by low blood pressure resulted in a hospital visit.

As the brains behind TV hits like the X-Factor and Got Talent franchises, Simon leads a high-paced life with demanding schedules that often result in late-night work and on-the-go meals, as well as significant levels of stress. This health scare motivated him to consult professionals and eliminate dairy, sugar, bread, gluten, and red meat from his menu.

He shared: "Cutting all that out is what has made a difference, genuinely." Though removing certain foods was not overly difficult for Simon, reducing alcohol was a concern.

Simon Cowell's figure has continued to shrink

Speaking to Extra TV, he revealed: "My first thought was 'what about the alcohol'? The doctor said, 'maybe not quite as much as you had before' and I've stuck to it and it's easy."

While he hasn't given up drinking and smoking entirely, he confirms that both are greatly reduced, contributing to a more balanced lifestyle. Evidently, following Simon's diet could be simpler than one might expect.

As per the Express, he disclosed that his diet now consists of white meats such as chicken and turkey, along with a generous serving of salads and vegetables. He also steers clear of red meats like beef, lamb, and pork, which are notorious for their high saturated fat content.
