Sir Brian May left shoppers perplexed as he rocked up for an unexpected performance.
Staff at Cobham Furniture in Surrey had an "out of this world" experience when Queen legend Sir Brian May popped in to play guitar on one of their beds. The music icon and X Factor singer Talia Dean took over the shop for a video shoot for the song 'You Made Your Bed'.
In the video, released on November 8, Sir Brian can be seen strumming his guitar in bed while clad in his pyjamas. Sales director Martin Williams, 34, expressed his excitement when they received the call asking to use their shop as a set. He said: "We had a phone call from Talia asking if we were up for working with her on a music video.
"She was very nice, and they ended up creating three sets in the showroom. We kept it all under hush as she asked. We locked all the doors for the day and blocked the windows. We got the joy of watching it all be produced in the showroom. It was a fascinating day.
"Watching Brian play the famous red guitar with all the amps here was just out of this world." The set for Brian May's bedroom in the video features a large teddy bear, a space duvet set and a large Jimi Hendrix poster on the wall - personally selected by the star for his imagined bedroom.
The musician also chose for his nine stack Vox amps to feature in the bedroom – which he takes on every Queen tour. Mr Williams, with 14 years of service to his name, was chuffed when the film crew allowed him to bring Holly, 15, and Logan, nine, to witness the behind-the-scenes wonders. He said: "I was a big fan of Brian, and my daughter is actually a fan of Talia's as she followed her on X Factor. Brian is a very nice guy.
"I asked them nicely if my kids could come experience it after school and they said yes. As soon as my kids came in Brian came over and had a chat with them about their day at school which was really nice. He made a big fuss of them. The next day he sent them a couple of books from his own private library which was a very nice touch.
"She was very happy and got a picture done with Talia. It was a once in a lifetime experience for my daughter and myself- and everyone here. It was quite a good day." A heartwarming 10% of the music video’s takings are pledged to the Crisis homelessness charity.
