Sony’s Premium WH-1000XM5 Headphones Have Been Slashed to a Historically Low Price for Black Friday

The holidays are right around the corner. A lot of us are probably still holding out for Black Friday before starting our holiday shopping, but Amazon has given us a gift today. Even though we’re not at Black Friday just yet, Amazon just pushed live a bunch of the planned deals on home goods and electronics for the post-Thanksgiving weekend. Among which are Sony’s premiere noise-canceling headphones—the WH-1000XM5. These are available in a range of sleek colors and are discounted 25%. Typically, the headphones each go for $400, but right now the midnight blue, classic black and smokey pink are all down to $298. For reference, they were on sale last week too for $328, but have dropped down another $30.

I’m impressed with Sony’s name choice with its flagship set of headphones. You look at Apple’s over-the-ear headphones and see they are appropriately called the AirPods Max. Samsung has a line of earbuds named the Galaxy Buds, fitting in with the rest of its Galaxy lineup of personal devices. And then we have Sony with the WH-1000XM5 noise-canceling headphones. Sony is taking the road less traveled, which is apparently naming your product after its warehouse SKU number. I kind of love that.
