From there, viewers were treated to Tucci's step-by-step process. First, he prepared the potatoes, slicing them with culinary precision – however, he said that size alteration is at the cook's discretion.
He then discusses the key to flavor is plenty of garlic. With a casual air, he suggests: "A fair amount of garlic six cloves, four cloves... three cloves. More garlic if you want more garlic. Just sliced in half.
A good amount of olive oil follows, doused liberally on the spuds, alongside salt and vibrant fresh oregano, or dried if preferred.
Ever the perfectionist, Stanley doesn't stop there. He finely chops rosemary, scattering it amongst the potatoes, before advising a thorough mix right in the roasting pan.
His cooking times are as flexible as his approach to ingredients anywhere between an hour to ninety minutes, because, as he charmingly notes, "that's up to you".
The online community was in awe of a video showing off some perfectly roasted potatoes, with the clip amassing over 1.6million views and sparking a hunger for the dish. "Mmm they look delicious," one viewer commented, while another praised: "Looks fantastic!"
Another added their voice to the chorus, saying: "Wow, simple and delicious!" Meanwhile, someone else eagerly added: "Yes please!"
Despite Stanley not disclosing his potato variety of choice, Poppy O'Toole, a chef with Michelin-starred training, advises using Maris Piper potatoes for that ideal roast. She also suggests preheating the roasting tray at 220C or 200C in a fan oven for around 10 minutes before tossing the potatoes on to achieve peak crispness.
