Shirley will be working alongside producers to make sure the series is as good as the novel.
She added: “I will be involved in it all and I’ll be taking guidance on who will be in the cast.”
Shirley had big success when she released Murder on the Dance Floor last year.
The star is thrilled the book will now be hitting the small screen.
She said: “When I was going into meetings, I was staring out and thinking, ‘Seriously?’.
“It’s going further down the chain as time goes on, so it's a very exciting process.”
Shirley released second novel Dance To The Death earlier this year and she is already planning a third title.
