Strictly Come Dancing's Shayne Ward 'sealed for early exit' after second dance-off blow

2 weeks ago 6

According to the bookies, Shayne Ward's journey on Strictly Come Dancing will come to an end tomorrow.

The bookies are now convinced he will leave the competition on Sunday, having landed in the dance-off for a second time last weekend.

The former X Factor champion Shayne, who has also graced the stage of the hit ITV show Dancing on Ice, was seen as one of the frontrunners for Strictly victory this year when his participation in the new series of the beloved BBC programme was announced.

However, after being stung by allegations of being 'insufferable' and 'arrogant,' Shayne found himself in the bottom two a few weeks ago.

After a brief respite, the singer and his professional partner Nancy Xu, were once again fighting to stay in the competition at the end of Halloween week, having been one of four couples tied on the leaderboard with a score of 31 out of 40.

Bookies favourite Chris McCausland finished joint bottom of the standings this week, five points behind Shayne, but evidently has a lot of public backing, as he managed to climb to safety, while Shayne had to face off against Punam Krishan in the dance-off.

And, while he was saved in a unanimous decision on last week's Strictly results show, with all four judges voting to keep him and Nancy in, in the latest odds shake-up Shayne has been made the overwhelming favourite to exit this weekend.

Shayne has been pegged at odds of 13/8 to leave according to betting specialists OLBG, a fair distance ahead of Sam Quek, who sits at 3/1, despite achieving the same score as him on Saturday night.

Jake Ashton, the authority on entertainment betting at OLBG, suggested that ex Coronation Street actor Shayne would require a "massive performance" if he is to avoid ending up in the bottom two after Strictly's inaugural Icons Week.
