Sydney Sweeney placed among highest-earning young actresses following 'Anyone But You' success

Having earned $2 million for that film, The Hollywood Reporter now reveals she's set to make an impressive $7.5 million for her upcoming thriller The Housemaid, where she'll star alongside Amanda Seyfried with Paul Feig directing.

Anyone But You success

The huge success of Anyone But You, which brought in $220 million on a $25 million budget, played a significant role in boosting Sweeney's value in the industry.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that her increased earnings are also due to backend profits from the film, further solidifying her place as a rising powerhouse.

Sweeney's savvy role selection has included recent biopics, such as those focusing on boxer Christy Martin and on Sammy Davis Jr.'s romance with Kim Novak.

Alongside her acting roles, she's taken on more executive-producing credits, earning $250,000 for her work behind the scenes on Anyone But You.

"I was on every call. I was in text group chats. I was probably keeping everybody over at Sony marketing and distribution awake at night because I couldn't stop with ideas," she said.

"I wanted to make sure that we were actively having a conversation with the audience as we were promoting this film, because at the end of the day, they're the ones who created the entire narrative."

Insiders shared that Sweeney's commitment to a role in Madame Web demonstrated her support for Sony Pictures, helping to greenlight her rom-com project.

In The Housemaid, adapted from Freida McFadden's bestselling novel by screenwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine, Sweeney will take on the role of Millie, a housemaid drawn into the complexities of the Winchester family's secrets, leading to suspense and unexpected twists.
