Taylor Swift described the Canadian fans as "welcoming, passionate, [and] excitable" as she revealed why she chose the cities of Toronto and Vancouver to end her record-breaking Eras Tour for good.
The 34-year-old pop star has played in the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia and is now onto the home stretch after playing in 52 cities and 144 shows as of November 15, and Canada is a peculiar place to end the marathon.
It's neither her home, nor where her career began, nor where the tour kicked off so why has she chosen to conclude the Eras Tour in the second-largest country in the world by area? She gave the answer to fans at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.
"If we are going to bring The Eras Tour to a close," Swift said to the audience. "Which we are, in nine shows.
"I was thinking I really wanted to spend those last shows with the most generous, encouraging, welcoming, passionate, excitable fans."
And it's not just Swift who is aware the show is coming to a close, as the venue, which is home to the MLB's Toronto Blue Jays, produced a huge friendship bracelet to welcome the star for six nights between November 14-23.
Friendship bracelets have been a signature aspect of the Eras Tour, allowing her devoted fans to mingle and make memories and keep souvenirs from watching their favorite singer take to the stage to perform hits like Cruel Summer, All Too Well and Blank Space.
The Rogers Centre bracelet can be spotted at the front of the premium entrance and reads, 'Taylor Swift, The Eras Tour', along with colors such as purple, pink, orange, red and green mimicking beads.
When does the Eras Tour end?
As mentioned, Swift is now into her final eight shows before she bows out for good after taking to the BC Place in Vancouver.
She will arrive there on December 6 and perform for three nights before the Eras Tour ends on December 8.
