A viral moment between Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift from the 2024 Golden Globes ceremony resurfaced during this year's show and took the internet by storm once again.
Hollywood's biggest stars turned up to the Beverly Hilton on Sunday to kick-off the 2025 awards season. They included Gomez and her new fiancé, Benny Blanco. Gomez was there in multiple roles including as an acting nominee for Only Murders in the Building, and as one of the stars of the runaway hit Netflix film Emilia Perez.
The movie, which follows a Mexican cartel leader who wants to undergo gender-affirming surgery, won four major awards at Sunday's ceremony including Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy.
While Swift wasn't in attendance, she did go to the 2024 Golden Globes and fans dug up a viral moment between her and best friend Gomez.
A video shared to X, formerly Twitter, showed Gomez sneaking up to Swift at her table and seemingly telling her something salacious as the "Bad Blood" singer reacted in shock and Gomez nodded her head in agreement.
"A year ago we got this iconic Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift moment at the #GoldenGlobes," the @SGchartupdate X account captioned the post which had more than 790,000 views at the time of writing.
The interaction caused quite a stir last year when many speculated Gomez had been gossiping about fellow nominee Timothee Chalamet and his date, Kylie Jenner. The Wonka actor and reality star made their public debut as a couple at the 2024 awards.
Many believe Gomez had said to Swift: "I asked for a picture with him (Chalamet) and she (Jenner) said no."
Gomez later debunked the theories by responding to an Instagram post by E! News.
"Noooooo I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up. Not that that's anyone business," she commented on the Tuesday following the Globes.
Gomez then declared she would be taking a break from social media.
"I'm off social for a while," she next to an Instagram video of her and Blanco sharing a laugh. "I'm focusing on what really matters."
Gomez and Swift fans reacted to the resurfaced video in the reply section of the post.
"Such an iconic duo! Selena and Taylor always bring the best energy, and this moment was everything. ✨" commented @5055Jasdev.
