Fifteen years after placing biological daughter Carly for adoption — and amid a years-long feud with Carly's adoptive parents — Teen Mom star Catelynn Baltierra wishes she did multiple things differently when choosing a couple to be Carly's mom and dad.

Catelynn, now 32, was 17 years old when she gave birth to Carly in 2009. As depicted on her 16 and Pregnant episode, Catelynn and now-husband Tyler Baltierra chose to place Carly for adoption when Catelynn was still pregnant — picking, through an adoption service, Brandon and Teresa Davis to be Carly's parents.

Though the Baltierras and the Davises initially decided on an open adoption — and Catelynn and Tyler had semi-annual visits with Carly for years — the MTV stars' relationship with Brandon and Teresa has been notably rocky for the past several years, with both Tyler and Catelynn calling out the Davises on social media for allegedly blocking and ignoring their repeated requests to talk to Carly.

For Catelynn — who lives in Michigan with Tyler and their three daughters — she wishes she chose a different couple to be Carly's parents.

"I definitely would have picked a couple in Michigan," the Teen Mom: The Next Chapter star told E! News in an interview published on Wednesday, January 29. (The Davises live in North Carolina.) She added: "I would have picked a couple that wanted fully open adoption from the get-go."

Still, Catelynn knows she made the right choice in placing Carly for adoption at the time.

"I feel like it took her away from a lot of the traumas and things that I was going through growing up, that she shouldn't have to go through," she shared, referring to her and Tyler's unstable home lives and difficult childhoods, which in part played out on TV.

In an interview published earlier this week, Catelynn told E! News that Brandon and Teresa have "definitely ... 100 percent closed the adoption."

"I'm still blocked and they recently told me to quit sending gifts because it was inappropriate and uncalled for, just a whole bunch of things," the TV personality said.

The drama between the Baltierras and the Davises has been going on for years. While they have had positive moments together — attending Catelynn and Tyler's 2015 wedding with Carly, as well as the Baltierra's 2023 trip to visit Carly with their three daughters — the 16 and Pregnant alums have been blasting the Davises on social media for more than a year, claiming that Brandon and Teresa are not allowing Carly to contact her biological parents.

"We've asked her parents and continue to do so, 'Is it Carly not wanting contact?'' Catelynn told E! News earlier this week. "Because if it's Carly not wanting contact, it would hurt, but we would understand and say, 'Hey, if you ever want to have it, we're here and we totally understand that all of this could be hard for you.'"
