Max George of The Wanted fame has opened up about the harrowing experience that led him to write a will after a sudden hospital dash last year.
At 36, Max faced a health scare before Christmas when medics found a heart irregularity, leading to weeks in the hospital. During this tense period, he had to inform his young girlfriend, Maisie Smith, aged 23, of his condition as she was gearing up for a performance in Kent.
The pop star kept his followers in the loop via social media, sharing his journey through the medical ordeal, including the fitting of a pacemaker during a surgery lasting two and a half hours.
Fortunately, Max made it home in time for Christmas following the successful operation. Maisie, his partner, was a pillar of support, staying by his side as he recuperated.
In a candid post-surgery interview, Max disclosed that he drafted a will on his iPhone while in the hospital, confessing to The Sun: "That first night I wrote a will, I thought I was going to die."
He further expressed his fears to The Sun, saying: "If I could go from being absolutely on top of the world to being told 'the bottom part of your heart isn't working', I kept thinking in my head, 'Well, what if the top half stops working overnight?'" His brush with mortality brought a stark realisation of "what your responsibilities are", reports the Mirror.

Reflecting on his loved ones, including his partner, family, and 'two little nephews', he penned a will.
This week, Max took to Instagram to post a video of himself taking tentative steps on a treadmill, before turning the camera to his face and giving a thumbs up, showing his resilience as he works on his recovery.
