In a new profile for Variety, Kidman discussed the fact she has never won a SAG Award for her work in film.

The SAG Awards are accolades specifically recognising actors, awarded by the Screen Actors Guild.

Once the nominations have been decided, all SAG-AFTRA members are invited to cast their vote to determine the winners.

Now, Kidman has won a SAG award before.

In 2017, she took home the win for Outstanding Actress in a Miniseries or TV Movie for her role in Big Little Lies, but now she has her sights set on taking home a SAG Award for her work in film.

Explaining to Variety that she's been "nominated rarely" Kidman explained what it would mean to her to take home a SAG Award for her latest film Babygirl, a frontrunner in the 2025 awards season.

"You get certain things that sit deeply within you when other actors see what you've done on screen and appreciate it or understand it – particularly with this film," she shared.

"I've had different actors talk to me about it and it's like they get it. They know what it takes to do particularly this kind of sexuality on screen.

"When an actor goes, 'I know what that took,' that's when you go, 'Oh, thank you'."

She shared that some of her close friends in the field, whose opinions can be "tough", have spoken to her "in depth" about her work on Babygirl.

"It's like when you said you love the film, you're like, almost, 'Can I hug you?'," she told the interviewer.

"Because it's like being understood and seen, and that's a very powerful thing when it happens."
