Goldie Lookin Chain first launched back in 2000 and typically satirises topics such as hip hop and consumer society.

Originating from Newport, the group's music also lampoons life in south Wales.

Taking to TikTok, longtime fans were delighted as Goldie Lookin Chain shared their newest song.

Titled "The Middle of Lidl", it features various members rapping about experiences in the supermarket.

One lyric goes: "It's safe space, my happy place. Where you can buy power tools or a briefcase."

Meanwhile, the comments section was soon flooded with enthusiastic reactions.

One person penned: "Is this actual GLC?? God I'm hoping so.

"This is what the world needs."

Another added: "If this isn't played in Lidl from now on, it will be a crime!"

While a third wrote: "I'm loving that GLC are back, missed your music."

A fourth remarked: "Another classic in the making, top draw lads."

Before securing a major record deal, Goldie Lookin Chain already recorded six albums.

They later signed for East West Records - which also counted rock band The Darkness among its numbers.

This led to Goldie Lookin Chain supporting The Darkness in the final stages of their UK tour.

Notable group members include singer Rhys Hutchings, who went by Xian.

Back in 2012, Rhys stepped up to be a Labour councillor in Newport.

Speaking to The Sun at the time, he shared: "A lot of people think politics is for older people and retired people who have got bored with playing golf.

“It’s for the future, I would be working for the people of Newport to make it a better place."
