The film 'Joker: Folie ? Deux' has not been very well received, both by critics and the public. Likewise, even one of the actors in the film believed that the failure was going to be evident. This is Tim Dillon, comedian and actor who appears in the film. He spoke on the podcast 'The Joe Rogan Experience' and was very critical about it: "The worst ever made".
'Joker: Folie ? Deux', a total disappointment: "It had no clear direction"
Tim Dillon spoke about 'Joker: Folie ? Deux' on 'The Joe Rogan Experience': "Both myself and other supporting actors already had doubts about the project. We would sit around and literally wonder what was going on with the plot. We were very confused, the script and the development of the film did not have a clear direction."
Dillon played a guard at Arkham Asylum, a setting in which the protagonist is in much of the film. The actor did not understand anything about it or the filmmakers' decisions: "They tried to avoid the controversial issues that characterized the first installment, surely to avoid criticism. The creators backed down too much."
The first edition of 'Joker' grossed more than $1 billion worldwide at the box office, earning it an Oscar, something that contrasts with this second installment, as it barely reached the same terms of about $200 million. It doesn't stop there, as 'Joker: Folie ? Deux', on Rotten Tomatoes, received a 32% rating.
Finally, Dillon sent a forceful message about the film: "They have not taken into account the opinions of everyone involved in the project, nor of the supporting actors, who suspected from the beginning that this would not work. It has been the worst ever made".
