Tom Hardy has revealed he once had an awkward meeting with Eminem backstage in London, leaving him feeling 'like a real d**k'.

British actor Hardy, 47, has recently been front-and-center on the press circuit promoting his latest flick, Venom: The Last Dance.

The final installment of the Venom trilogy, directed by Kelly Marcel, has received somewhat of a mixed reception from critics.

It’s currently sitting with a 41 percent rating on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer, but entertainment aficionados are seemingly much happier, having awarded the junior outing a solid 81 percent on the Popcornmeter.

Ahead of Venom: The Last Dance’s theatrical release, Hardy appeared on DJ Whoo Kid’s popular Whoo’s House Podcast to discuss his latest appearance as Eddie Brock - a former investigative reporter who hosts the extraterrestrial symbiote Venom.

The conversation swiftly turned to Eminem, with Hardy revealing he once met the ‘Rap God’ backstage.

Those who’ve watched both Venom and its sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage will already be aware that the 52-year-old famously contributed songs to both film soundtracks.

The titular track ‘Venom’ features in the first motion picture, while a remixed version and ‘Last One Standing’, featuring Polo G, Skylar Grey and Mozzy, were also included in the second instalment.

So it’s fair to say the Hardy/Eminem/Venom collaboration is pretty deep-rooted, right?

According to Hardy, he once had the opportunity to come face-to-face with the rapper himself.

It’s understood the meeting took place ahead of Eminem’s second 2018 show at Twickenham in London.

“I went to his concert and I felt sorry for him because I got ushered to his dressing room backstage to say hello,” Hardy recounted to DJ Whoo Kid, 52.

“And he had to take a photo with me and I felt like a real d**k. He’s nice but he had to go on stage.

“So it’s like he’s prepping to do his job and then some idiot like me comes in and was like, ‘Hey!’ He just deadpanned me.”

After realising that the ‘Spaceman’ favorite was trying to get into the groove, The Bikeriders actor added: “I was like, ‘OK. Now is not the time, we’ll save this for another time.’”

Interestingly Venom isn’t the only thing which connects Hardy and Eminem.

According to The Independent, Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller originally wanted to cast the father-of-three as the new Max Rockatansky before ultimately handing the role to Hardy.

Miller, whose directorial credits include Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and Three Thousand Years of Longing, reportedly reached out to Eminem but that’s ‘as far as it went’.

He told the publication he turned down the role because Mad Max: Fury Road planned to shoot in Australia and at that point, he ‘simply didn’t want to leave home’.

He said: “I think he had the impression that if he could do it out of his home state, then he’d be up for it.”

Hardy also reportedly beat out Armie Hammer and Marvel star Jeremy Renner to the role.
