Tommy Fury 'pulls out of I'm A Celeb' after getting 'lucrative offer' at last minute

1 month ago 5

Former Love Island hunk Tommy Fury has binned plans to appear in the 2024 series of ' I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

Despite having been hotly tipped for a stint in the Aussie jungle. Instead, it's said that Tyson Fury's younger bro has nabbed a more attractive deal and is set to face off KSI in the ring once more over roughing it with celebs such as Coleen Rooney Down Under.

The boxer, who's just called it quits with long-time love Molly-Mae Hague, had been chewing the fat with ITV execs about the gig before he dropped the bombshell that he's backing out, even though the show's kick-off is on the horizon. A TV insider spilled the beans: "Bosses are surprised Tommy has pulled out of I'm A Celebrity at this late stage as it would have been a great opportunity for him."

The source remained upbeat when they gabbed with The Sun, saying: "Thankfully, execs already had some great names waiting in the wings so they'll be looking at which ones fit best into the line-up already booked so they can deliver a truly great series."

Tommy Fury is expected to face KSI once again

Just days after Tommy Fury sidestepped probing questions about his rumoured jungle adventure, he has now spilled the beans. Grilled last week on Heart Breakfast about possibly joining a star-studded reality show, he quipped: "Listen a lot of things in my life is like a rollercoaster in a minute. There are so many things I might do. You know, could he be doing this?

"Could he be doing that? To be honest with you, I don't know what I'm doing this afternoon. I mean, I just take literally an hour at a time, so I don't know. There's a lot of things going on in my life right now. So, I'm not sure on anything.", reports the Mirror.

Amanda Holden, the hostess with the mostest on Heart Breakfast, aired her worries about Tommy's grub if he stepped into the jungle, saying: "I mean, it would be a brilliant one to do but I would worry about the lack of protein in there. You'd come out a bit deflated, like the Michelin but not the Michelin Man by the end of it."

Telly top dogs were all over Tommy, hoping he’d send ratings through the roof and gab about his shock split from Molly-Mae.

The pair, who shot to fame on Love Island series five, had set up shop together, welcomed a sprog in January last year, and even got hitched!

They bust their fans’ bubbles this summer, though, announcing they're dunzo after a tumultuous five-year love story, amid whispers of cheating. With the nation on tenterhooks, there was chatter about Tommy fessing up around the campfire, alongside other famous faces, and dishing the dirt on the real deets with his former flame.

A well-placed source spilled the beans to The Sun, saying: "Tommy is a great name as a potential campmate as he's already known to the ITV audience and he'd be brilliant in the Bushtucker Trials. Bosses are talking with lots of celebrities ahead of the new series and are determined to make this year's line-up one of the best."

They added that: "They also know that the superfit boxer is likely to be a prime candidate for the annual hunk-in-the-jungle shower scenes."

However, fate had other plans, and it seems Tommy prefers to throw punches in the ring rather than scavenge for stars in a jungle challenge.
