The blogger that Megan Thee Stallion is suing for cyberstalking, sharing deepfake pornography featuring the artist, and purposely causing her emotional distress will be represented by Unite the People, the same nonprofit law firm representing Tory Lanez in his shooting conviction appeal.
In her filing, Meg alleges that the blogger, Milagro Gramz, has “acted, and continues to act, on behalf of Daystar Peterson (also known as Tory Lanez) as an online rumor mill churning out falsehoods about [Megan] … for no other reason than to bully, harass and punish [Megan] for [Lanez’s] conviction.”
The lawsuit also accuses Gramz of having a "conspiratorial relationship" with Lanez and being a "paid surrogate."
In addition to requesting a jury trial, Megan Thee Stallion also seeks compensatory, punitive, and statutory damages.
“It’s time to hold bloggers accountable for years of harassment, cyberbullying, and the publication of misinformation about my personal and professional life,” Meg told Rolling Stone in a statement.
“I’ve endured countless attacks on my character based on false narratives from social media bloggers misrepresenting themselves as journalists," the Houston rapper continued. "It’s unacceptable behavior and these individuals need to understand there will be repercussions for recklessly posting lies and defamatory falsehoods.”
Megan's attorney, Alex Spiro, also requested that Gramz retain documents and information relevant to the case, including her social media posts and communication with Lanez, his family, and even DJ Akademiks.
The suit alleges that Gramz continuously claimed throughout Lanez’s trial that he didn’t shoot Meg. Lanez was ultimately unanimously convicted by a jury and is now serving a 10-year prison sentence.
“Milagro [Gramz] has been served a lawsuit making a lot of false claims against her professional conduct in an attempt to stop her from reporting on the Daystar Peterson case,” Unite the People wrote in a statement to Rolling Stone.
“Unite the People Inc. was founded and exists to fight on behalf of the disadvantaged, the small, and the powerless against these Goliath organizations, corporations, or celebrities that want to push around and bully the Davids of this world.”
In Megan’s 2022 Rolling Stone cover story, she told the magazine she would “spin the block” on bloggers who are “messing” with her life.
