TV star apologised for calling former reality icon 'trash' - but it's not the first time he said sorry

Andy Cohen has spoken out on that comment he made about Heidi Montag in 2011. He’s now apologized for a second time, saying he remembered saying something on WWHL years ago.

Spencer Pratt was ready for war with Andy Cohen, saying he would never go on WWHL or let his wife, Heidi Montag, get casted on RHOBH, purely because Andy once called her “delusional trash”.

Andy had his co-host play the old audio, of him saying Heidi Montag is “delusional trash” following talks with their production about going on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

His co-host, Jordan, told him, “Why did you have to make her the jackal? I mean, I love Heidi.” Andy responded, “Well then I realized that I did apologize for this on Andy Cohen Live several years ago.”

“So, what I will say also is, that was mean, that was 14 years ago and what I really don’t like about it is referring to her as trash. I don’t like that at all and I’m really sorry about that,” he added.

‘It just was a different universe’

Andy went on to say he often said and did things on TV 14 years ago because it was a “different universe”. He said, “I’m not trying to justify it. Maybe I’ll apologize for it every three years.”

At the time, he’d declined Heidi entry to her show. Since then, Spencer has publicly bashed his mean words, in which Andy had said he’d “sooner stab his own eyes” than have her on WWHL.

In 2023, Andy addressed the comments but weren’t sure what they were. Since then, Spencer has said it’s a “hard pass” and doesn’t want to ever go on, or watch, the popular talk show.
