TV star's face swelled before potential 'parasite living in her face' diagnosis

Brandi Glanville might be a RHOBH alum, but the reality star is staying in the headlines. Though she says she hasn’t worked in two years, Brandi’s trials and tribulations are at the forefront of a lot of Bravo lovers’ minds this December.

Casting are thoughts back to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills 10 years ago and Brandi was a full time star of the Bravo show. Since then, she popped back as a guest, and also appeared on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip in 2022. Since then, her health has taken a serious turn for the worst.

Brandi’s face ‘swelled up’

After the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip to Morocco, Brandi began experiencing feelings of depression, per Fox News.

She started losing her ability to speak, and her speech became slurred.

Then, in October last year, after a stressful house move, she collapsed and was hospitalized.

At the same time, her face “swelled up.”

Brandi said: “My whole face swelled up; my throat closed, and my son called 911… I was in the hospital for a few days, and they said it was stress-induced angioedema, and I just didn’t believe it.”

After that, her symptoms got worse.

Bravo star is ‘spending all her money’

It’s no secret that getting access to healthcare is a costly business and Brandi is certainly no stranger to having to whip out her bank card for all kinds of medications and appointments this December.

Over the past year, she says she’s “spent all her money” on “trying to work out what’s going on,” with her health, per ET.

Regarding just how much she’s spent, Brandi explains: “Over $70,000… I mean, my savings are… with not working as well for the past two years, it’s been, I’m stressed…”

She explains how doctors have suggested she could have a “parasite living in her face.”

Detailing what it feels like being in her body, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star said: “I’m like touching it, and the more I touch one area, it jumps to the other side.”

Terry Dubrow weighs in

Although Brandi has been spending tens of thousands of dollars to work out what’s happening with her health, she’s still not getting answers.

Enter everyone’s favorite surgeon – Dr Terry Dubrow. He may have a trick or two up his sleeve when it comes to Brandi’s diagnosis.

Speaking to TMZ, Dr Dubrow said he would like to analyze Brandi’s facial tissue by surgically taking a sample.

The famous doctor is offering Brandi his expertise, as he does many people who appear on E! show Botched.

Dr Dubrow’s initial theory is that Brandi is experiencing “an infectious process or a foreign body reaction to something she’s had injected.”

He also referred to her situation as a “ticking time bomb.”

Brandi’s latest take

In a latest update, speaking exclusively to Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea, Brandi really said she has no idea if there is a parasite living in her face.

The reality TV star share how she’s so desperate to look normal, she’d allow doctors to “do anything” to correct her facial disfigurement.

She explained: “I prefer [my face] when it’s a little swollen, to be honest… When it’s only swollen on one side, it’s not great. But the sinking in thing is killing me slowly, because I just feel like I look like a crackhead.”

“Over the weekend, it was only swollen on the right side of my face, so I looked like I had a really big meatball in the right side of my cheek,” she adds

Brandi says the areas of swelling in her face are “filled with a disgusting oily fluid” that’s “so gross.”

“Whenever I get the chills, it’s generally an infection… Then I start having the ticking in my ear, and then whatever’s in my face, moving around, started moving around again. And it starts sinking in again,” she explains.
