Two more women are set to bring compensation claims against pop paedophile Gary Glitter.

The disgraced singer, 80, is said to be alone and depressed in his jail cell at the prospect of losing his £6million fortune. We revealed in August how he faced dying behind bars with a longer sentence after ignoring a High Court order to pay one woman £508,000 for molesting her when she was 12.

Now two others are poised to bring their own action, understood to relate to abuse he carried out in Britain. A legal source said: “The two women have been encouraged on the back of one of his victims bringing a substantial claim earlier this year. Glitter’s victims see it as a way of achieving justice for what they went through. He ruined lives. There could be many more. The way he has failed to engage in the process will go against him.”

The pervert will remain in HMP Risley in Warrington until 2031 after the Parole Board ruled in February he was unfit for release as he still posed a risk to children.

A justice source said: “Glitter has been nicknamed the loner. He is alone in his cell most of the day and is thoroughly depressed. He is full of resentment. There is no longer any swagger. It has dawned on him that he faces financial ruin. His arrogance has always given him a way out. He always hoped he would be out and be able to spend his millions freely.

“But he knows he cannot move freely for a long time. If he survives long enough to be released then his fortune would have evaporated.” Glitter’s assets include a £2million house in London’s Baker Street.

He was jailed for 16 years in 2015 for abusing three girls, one under 10, at the height of his fame in the 1970s and 1980s but was released last year. Weeks later he was recalled for breaching his licensing conditions. The glam rocker, real name Paul Gadd, was previously jailed in Vietnam for abusing young girls there.
