Quincy Jones‘ cause of death has reportedly been revealed days after his passing at 91 years old.

More Details On Quincy Jones’ Reported Cause Of Death

On Wednesday, November 13, TMZ published an exclusive report regarding Jones’ passing. Furthermore, the outlet asserted that the 91-year-old’s death was caused by pancreatic cancer.

Per the outlet, the information was revealed when the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health released the musician’s death certificate. Additionally, TMZ reports that no additional factors contributed to the musician’s passing.

Furthermore, the outlet notes that pancreatic cancer is the “4th leading cause of cancer deaths in the country.”

The Musician’s Family Released A Statement

As The Shade Room previously reported, Jones passed away on November 3 while surrounded by his loved ones and children. Per TMZ, at the time, Jones’ publicist, Arnold Robinson, confirmed his passing.

Subsequently, Jones’ loved ones also shared a joint statement.

“Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing. And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him,” the family’s statement reportedly read in part.

According to the outlet, Jones has since been laid to rest in a private ceremony attended by his children, siblings, and other loved ones. For the public, a celebration of life is reportedly being organized. However, details have yet to be released.

Quincy Jones’ Daughter Rashida Recently Recalled One Of His Encounters With Tupac

As The Shade Room previously reported, in July, Quincy Jones made headlines by way of his daughter Rashida. At the time, Rashida sat down for an interview with The New Yorker. In the discussion, she reflected on a 1993 issue of The Source magazine. Furthermore, in that issue, Tupac vocalized his disdain at Jones for having relations with a white woman who he also welcomed children with.

“…I was so mad. It was a new perspective to me,” Rashida said in part, reportedly adding. “It just felt like a completely unwarranted attack.”

Furthermore, Rashida shared how Tupac, she, and her father were able to settle their differences as her sister, Kidada, would ultimately end up dating the rapper before his death in 1996.
