A "very special" documentary will celebrate the life of the late presenter Dave Myers later this year.
It was announced that Dave had passed away, aged 66, in February, less than two years after he'd shared his cancer diagnosis. The news was shared by his pal Si King, now 58, who was part of the Hairy Bikers duo with Dave.
Si will further pay tribute to his late co-star and fellow chef in the upcoming BBC documentary, the Hairy Bikers: You'll Never Ride Alone. As reported by PA, it will be shown just before Christmas on BBC Two and will follow the 45,000 bikers that joined Si on a memorial journey from London to Dave's hometown of Barrow-in-Furness back in April this year.
During the one-off special, TV presenter Si will pick out moments from his 25-year career and friendship with Dave. The hour-long show will use archive footage, new interviews and unseen clips to celebrate Dave's life and his double act with Si.
Speaking about making the new documentary, Si said: "“It was a very special show to pull together. Full of nostalgia, laughs and celebration of my best friend and his life."
Andrew Mackenzie, the show's producer, said there had been an "outpouring of love" for Dave following his death. He said: "The outpouring of love for The Hairy Bikers this year has been extraordinary and it was a real honour for everyone who has worked with them to document Dave Day (the celebratory bike ride) and celebrate Si and Dave’s friendship over the past two decades."

Dave's death came while the pair's last series, The Hairy Bikers Go West, was being aired, seeing them travel along the west of the UK from Scotland down to Devon.
Si previously paid tribute to his late pal Dave in a statement announcing his death in February, in which he shared that he would miss him "every day". He wrote in it: "All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing. [...] Personally, I am not sure I can put into words on how I feel at the moment. My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can't follow."
He further commented at the time: "I will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime. I wish you god's speed brother; you are and will remain a beacon in this world. See you on the other side. Love ya."
