Wait, Are Ant And Dec Splitting Up?

2 weeks ago 3

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is over and Ant and Dec have gone for another year and, no, we don’t know what to watch either.

But does the end of this year’s series – which saw Danny Jones crowned as winner – mean Ant and Dec are over for good? Earlier this year they said a final goodbye to Saturday Night Takeaway, confirming it wouldn’t be back in 2025.

It’s also been confirmed that I’m A Celebrity… South Africa – the All Stars spin-off of the show won’t be returning either.

And now, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both 49, have shocked fans by revealing they’re splitting up… for Christmas.

That’s right, it turns out the Geordie duo don’t quite do everything together as they have shared they will be spending Christmas apart this year.

When asked on I’m A Celeb’s accompanying show Unpacked by host Joel Dommett if they spend the festivities together, the pair fell into laughter.

‘No, we don’t spend Christmas together,’ Ant – who shares six-month-old son Wilder with wife Anne-Marie Corbett, who is the mum of two daughters from a previous relationship – explained.

He added he will ‘just be at home with the girls and the family. Yeah, just chill.’

Joel, sounding disappointed, joked he pictured the pair sat in ‘pyjamas and silk shorts’ as they opened presents together.

However, fans should fear not as them spending Christmas apart doesn’t mean they’ll be off screens for long. They will return to host a new series of Britain’s Got Talent in 2025.

Britain’s Got Talent typically begins airing the audition stages in April and runs until June with a mammoth week of live semi-finals airing each night.

But, due to the hole in the schedule left by Ant and Dec’s other show Saturday Night Takeaway not airing next year, the format is changing and BGT will run for longer.

Instead, Britain’s Got Talent – which features Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli as judges – will begin in February and the live semi-finals will air weekly on Saturday nights until we decide on a winner.

Back in February, Ant and Dec did admit they would start spending less time together in the public eye.

Speaking to FAULT magazine, Ant said, ‘On a more personal level, part of the reason we’re pausing Takeaway is we need a break ourselves, and we need to spend some time with our family.

‘We’ve both got children that we need to spend time with for a little bit. We need time to think and, and time to step back and look at the bigger picture and just see where we are now.

‘You know, like I say, “we’re turning 49, and what do we want to do next? What’s the next phase of our career?” And we’ve got lots of ideas and lots of offers on the table, lots of options of things we can do. But it’s working on what we do next and where the next chapter begins.

‘So that’s what we’re gonna do when Saturday Night Takeaway is out of the way. We’ll sit down, take a bit of time, and reevaluate everything.’

As long as you’re not gone for too long, boys!
