After announcing her slow return to Royal duties earlier this year following her treatment for cancer, Kate Middleton made an appearance at the Annual Festival of Remembrance at London’s Royal Albert Hall. For the occasion she stuck to the traditional all-black dress code in a gorgeous black midi-length coat dress we suspect is one of her favourite pieces in her wardrobe, the Alexander McQueen Black Flared Wool Coat which originally sold for £1745.
Kate’s Alexander McQueen coat has sold out, but we found a gorgeous alternative at a fraction of the price. The Long Sleeve Knitted Button Wrap Dress from Paisie is available for £113 and has a similar silhouette and look to Kate’s designer version, making it perfect for getting her look on a budget.

Just like Kate’s coat dress, the Paisie wrap dress has a midi-length hemline and a wrap over design that accentuates your waist and creates a flattering silhouette. It also features decorative gold buttons on the waist similar to the fastening buttons of Kate’s Alexander McQueen coat dress.

Ribbed details on the waist also add to the feminine silhouette, and it’s made from a soft stretchy knitted fabric that’s both comfy and flattering.
It’s available in sizes small to XL, and if you want something a little bolder than a classic black colour, you can also pick it up in dark green and a plum shade of purple. You can pick up the dress over at Wolf & Badger, or direct from the Paisie website.

Paisie)You can style the midi dress with tights and a simple pair of pumps just like Kate’s Remembrance Festival outfit, or wear it with a pair of loafers and a blazer for the office. You can also pick up a jumper version of the dress for £80, which has the same voluminous shoulders and ribbed tapered waistline with gold buttons, and looks amazing with a simple pair of jeans or a mini skirt with tights.
Over at Finery London, the Lucia Black Midi Shirt Dress is also a great alternative. It has a similar fitted waistline with a flared skirt, but has a high collared neckline rather than the V-neck wrap style. It also has silver buttons, rather than gold, down the front.
The £85 Sosander Button and Chain Detail Midi Dress is also a great pick for an elegant and timeless luxury look. It’s made from a similar lightweight knitted fabric and has a fit and flare design with gold button and chain details on the bodice.
