1000-Lb. Sisters stars Tammy Slaton and Amy Halterman (née Slaton) used to live together in a duplex located in Dixon, Kentucky, until Amy purchased a new abode for her family, including now-ex husband Michael Halterman and their sons, Gage and Glenn. The sisters have gone through big changes in recent years, and their living arrangements have changed, too.

Amy purchased a new home in the city of Morganfield, Kentucky, for $37,000, In Touch can confirm. The single-story, 1,584-square-foot property went on the market back in July 2021.
As for how her family decided on their new home, “We were driving around one day and we saw the sign and we’re like, ‘There’s our sign, we need to move,'” Amy revealed to the outlet. “And Gage was always sleeping in the kitchen, I wanted him to have his own room … And I knew we were going to have another kid, so I made sure we had enough room for both of them.”
Amy also shared the news with her sibling on the show. “I just made an offer on a house, and they accepted it,” Amy told Tammy about her choice to relocate.
Ahead of her birthday in October 2022, Amy told Instagram followers that she didn’t want anything for her special day because she already has it all. “As my birthday in few week [sic] I gotta say I have nothing to wish for. I got me a wonderful man, two awesome boys and a house. I’m proud of myself!!!” she captioned a car selfie.
However, Amy reportedly moved out of the house with their two sons in February 2023, according to The Sun.
Three weeks later, In Touch confirmed that Michael filed for divorce from Amy after nearly four years of marriage on March 13, 2023. By that April, Amy also returned back to the home she once shared with Michael with her kids. The former spouses’ divorce was finalized in September 2023, with Amy and Michael sharing custody of Gage and Glenn.
“I get the boys 70 percent of the time, Michael gets ‘em 30,” Amy said on 1000-Lb. Sisters.

The siblings used to reside right next to each other in a $239,000 duplex in Dixon, Kentucky, so Amy could help Tammy amid her health struggles. It’s a four-bedroom, two-bathroom property, and Tammy paid rent on her respective side while she was away at a weight loss rehab facility to focus on her well-being in June 2023.
Tammy later moved into a home owned by her and Amy’s brother, Chris Combs. In a teaser clip for the October 29, 2024, episode of 1000-Lb. Sisters, the reality star expressed concern about how much work needed to be done on the property before she could settle in. Many areas of the home were damaged, including broken floor tiles and a dirty kitchen sink.
“I hope Chris can finish everything in 30 days,” Tammy said in a confessional. “I don’t know much about, like, construction. It’s like speaking Chinese to me or a different language cause I don’t understand.”
However, she added that she was just “thankful to have a place offered” for her to live.
How Is Tammy Slaton Doing in Rehab?
Tammy returned home from weight loss rehab in December 2023 after a 14-month stay.
In February 2022, Tammy shared a series of new selfies seeming to show her in good spirits. Plus, she lost 115 pounds after just 30 days of her stay at the Ohio-based rehab, her brother Chris proudly announced on the show’s season finale.
“I’m overjoyed that she’s ready to get on this train and start rolling down the tracks,” he gushed.
Back in November 2021, Tammy suffered a health scare and had to be rushed to the hospital for carbon monoxide poisoning. During her visit, she also got pneumonia and was septic, leading her to get a tracheostomy that she is still wearing now.
