Paddington Bear is set to delight audiences once again with his third cinematic outing, titled Paddington in Peru.
The official synopsis reveals: "Full of Paddington's signature blend of wit, charm, and laugh-out-loud humour, Paddington in Peru finds the beloved, marmalade-loving bear lost in the jungle on an exciting, high-stakes adventure."
It continues: "When Paddington discovers his beloved Aunt Lucy has gone missing from the Home for Retired Bears, he and the Brown family head to the wilds of Peru to look for her, the only clue to her whereabouts a spot marked on an enigmatic map."
"Determined to solve the mystery, Paddington embarks on a thrilling quest through the rainforests of the Amazon to find his aunt...and may also uncover one of the world's most legendary treasures."
The star-studded cast of the third Paddington film includes Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Imelda Staunton, and Carla Tous, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Joining the adventure are Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, Olivia Colman, and Antonio Banderas, with Ben Whishaw returning to voice the lovable Paddington.
For those looking to catch up before the new release, the first two films are readily available. Paddington, which premiered in 2014 as the inaugural film of the series, can be streamed on BBC iPlayer at no cost. Paddington 2 is also accessible on BBC iPlayer as well as Netflix for its subscribers.
In addition to the films, a television series titled The Adventures of Paddington was announced in 2017. The series made its global debut on Nickelodeon on January 20, 2020.
The beloved bear first graced the pages of children's literature on October 13, 1958, in A Bear Called Paddington by British author Michael Bond. The author featured him in 29 books, with the final one, Paddington at St Paul's, published posthumously in 2018.
The character has since become an iconic figure in children's literature, known for his spectacles, old red hat, brown suitcase, blue duffel coat and a fondness for marmalade.
