Amanda Kloots and Alan Bersten didn't always have such a smooth tango.
The Talk co-host revealed that she and Bersten, her Dancing With the Stars partner, had a lot of tension in their relationship and accused him of being "very mean" to her.
Kloots, 42, made the shocking admission on the Tuesday, November 19 episode of the Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey podcast and explained that she believed his background was to blame for their miscommunications.
"Growing up Russian, growing up in that dance atmosphere," she said. "And he did see a lot of potential in me, and he saw that we could possibly win this thing."
The mom-of-one noted that she "got yelled at" during their rehearsals, but she kept her emotions to herself so she would not have to do an interview with producers about her feelings.
"I would just keep it bottled up," she explained. "And we would just be dancing, and I would just be raging inside."
Kloots and Bersten, 30, ultimately came in fourth place on the show despite their rocky history.
Now, Kloots looks at her former partner more fondly.
"I think Alan has grown up a lot in the last couple of years," she said on the podcast. "I'm saying this, and I know that he'll agree with me: I helped him become a nicer person in teaching."
Bersten is currently competing on Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars alongside Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher.
