Wynne Evans, the face of GoCompare ads and a former Strictly Come Dancing star, has shockingly been let go from the show's live tour after another controversy. The 53-year-old opera singer was embroiled in a scandal after making a sexually inappropriate comment during a photo op.

This isn't the first time Wynne has been caught up in controversy, and following his 'axing' from the Strictly lineup, we're taking a look at his past year's blunders... Heading over to Instagram, Wynne announced: "I've agreed with the BBC that l'll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing."

He also voiced his remorse, saying: "I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection."

Additionally, Wynne expressed: " I'm sorry to those I won't get to see at the remaining performances, and I'm grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me."

The 'spit roast comment' debacle surfaced when reports claimed Wynne used the term "spit roast" referring to host Janette Manrara in a private joke with Jamie Borthwick, an EastEnders actor and ex-Strictly contestant. Facing the music, Wynne admitted: "My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise.", reports the Mirror.

Before he was in hot water, Wynne already had to skip out on a show due to an injury to his ankle, and BBC bosses were in the dark about his dodgy remark. A BBC Studios spokesperson said: "We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints.

"We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour."

During the last Strictly series, Wynne was also in the firing line for allegedly 'groping' his partner Katya Jones, 35. Audiences frowned as they watched Katya grimace and swat away his hand off her waist post-performance on the live telly.

Wynne, seemingly oblivious, went in for a high five, only for viewers to catch Katya rolling her eyes and snubbing him.

The socials went wild with the pair trying to laugh it off, claiming it was all "just messing around" and nothing but a "silly inside joke."

Katya, setting the record straight on It Takes Two, confidently blasted the misinterpretation, declaring: "The idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended in any way is total nonsense, and those that have doubts, you guys have got it wrong. So hopefully this will be the end of it, and you just keep making me smile."

A fortnight later, Wynne stirred up a fresh scandal with a crass comment to a makeup artist about his double chin resembling a lady's nether regions. He defended his naughty jab, insisting it was all in jest and part of a private self-depracting jibe, despite at least one other person catching wind of it in the room.

The Mirror reported that it remains unclear whether the incident led to an investigation or a formal complaint. An insider told the publication: "It was a bit of a vulgar dad joke. Wynne clearly didn't mean any offence, but you have to be a little bit careful these days."
