BBC Radio 2 is set for a major revamp this weekend. It will welcome back the much-adored Nick Grimshaw and introduce a familiar face three years after his departure from BBC Radio 6 to host a popular podcast.
With Rob Beckett taking a break from the Sunday evening show this weekend, presenter Zoe Ball has announced that his stand-in will be none other than the iconic Shaun Keaveny.
Since stepping down from his radio hosting role in 2021, the broadcaster has lent his voice to several successful podcasts, including The Line Up, where he chatted with guests about their dream festival lineup, BBC's Your Place Or Mine, and Global's Daily Grind. However, he's now ready to return to his roots.
Zoe had the honour of breaking the news on air today, assuring listeners that her former colleague will be "brilliant" at covering for Rob, who is believed to be on holiday, as per The Sun.
"He is filling in for Rob, but tonight he has his first episode of the Rock Show. He knows his music so well, he will be brilliant at it," she told listeners.

She added: "Welcome, Shaun. I am so happy for you."
Shaun has yet to comment on the thrilling news on his social media platforms, but with his first show since replacing Johnnie Walker, scheduled to air at 11 pm tonight, he might be too occupied ensuring everything goes smoothly.
In addition to Shaun's comeback, Nick took to Instagram to share his own thrilling news with a humorous post.
He posted two colourful photos of himself at the BBC Radio 2 studio, unable to hide his delight.

Pictured next to a sign for the station, Nick was all smiles as he informed his 1.3 million followers: "So this is exciting, beyond thrilled to say I’ll be looking after you on Saturday afternoons on @bbcradio2 whilst @rylan is away. Continuing my substitute teacher role I’ll see you this weekend from 3 and then on & off for the next couple of months. How fun! (Slide 3 is me when I found out the news)."
It comes as regular host Rylan Clark continues to care for his 71 year old mother, Linda.

Rylan revealed his impending absence from the show in September, informing fans that his mum - who he appears on Gogglebox with, had a terrible fall while they were holidaying together.
He told fans: "Unfortunately, decided to take mummy Linda on holiday...She's not been away for 10 years. And what (did) she go to do?"
"Falls over and breaks an arm and leg, what (are) you going to do? Classic Linda, classic Linda. Now a little broken arm and a leg, (I) can deal with that but when you take that up with everything else (that) is wrong with her? Nightmare, especially abroad."
Despite the ordeal, the duo made it back home safely where Linda underwent surgery. She still needed assistance with daily tasks, but fortunately, she had a very supportive son ready to lend a hand.
