50 Cent is weighing in on fellow rapper A$AP Rocky's felony assault trial, siding with Rihanna's boyfriend that A$AP Relli, the man accusing A$AP Rocky of shooting him in 2021, is just after money.
Why Is A$AP Rocky on Trial?
A$AP Rocky, whose legal name is Rakim Mayers, has pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.
The charges stem from a November 2021 incident in Hollywood, where A$AP Rocky allegedly fired a gun at former friend and fellow A$AP Mob member, A$AP Relli, whose real name is Terell Ephron.
A$AP Rocky's defense is that the gun was a starter pistol he carried for safety reasons, but did not fire at A$AP Relli.
What To Know
50 Cent posted a clip to Instagram on Wednesday of A$AP Relli testifying, "He [A$AP Rocky] shot the gun at me."
"Man I hope Rockie (sic) alright this fool just want some money," 50 Cent captioned the post. "We seen this movie before. It's a re run, sucker a-- smh."
While leaving the courthouse Tuesday, a photographer asked A$AP Relli about his response to people who call him a "snitch."
"Would you be a snitch if someone shot you?" A$AP Relli replied.
Is A$AP Rocky in Jail?
No, A$AP Rocky was released from jail the same day he was arrested in April 2022 on a $550,000 bond.
However, if convicted on all charges, A$AP Rocky could get up to 24 years in prison. He declined a plea deal to receive 180 days in county jail with three years probation and a seven-year suspended prison sentence.
50 Cent Producing Sean "Diddy" Combs Documentary
50 Cent is also following fellow rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs' legal battle. The "Bad Boy For Life" artist is jailed in Brooklyn, awaiting trial in his sex trafficking case.
50 Cent is the executive producer of a docuseries titled Diddy Do It, which will be streamed on Netflix.
"It's a difficult project because every day there's new accusations coming out, it's new things that happened," 50 Cent said on Good Morning America in December. "It's become an octopus, with so many powers and so many things going on there."
The "In Da Club" rapper also said he was surprised by the growing number of alleged accusations against Combs.
"I don't think anyone could have anticipated this many accusations and things that have taken place," he said.
When Will 'Diddy Do It' Be Released?
A release date for the series has yet to be released.
What People Are Saying
Superior Judge Mark Arnold implementing a gag order Tuesday in A$AP Rocky's case: "I don't want any attorney saying anything to the press while the case is going on. That's it. You can call it a gag order."
Attorney Gloria Allred to Newsweek on if Rihanna's presence in court could sway jurors: "Although jurors are instructed by the judge to consider only the evidence admitted by the court, it is human nature for many jurors to look at a celebrity sitting in the courtroom."
"Even though jurors should not take those facts into consideration and even if jurors state that they will not consider that, some jurors will not be able to ignore it."

Wednesday is a short day in A$AP Rocky's trial. Proceedings will only take place from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. EST due to someone in the case having a commitment they cannot miss.
