90 Day Fiance’s Matilda ‘Feels Like Dying’ After Learning Niles Wants to Postpone Their Wedding

90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days star Matilda had a harsh reaction after finding out her boyfriend, Niles, wasn’t quite ready to make it down the aisle.

“I don’t know what is going on. Maybe it’s a prank. I don’t know,” Matilda, 23, told producers during the Sunday, October 21, episode of the spinoff. “Because we discuss about this when he was in the U.S. If he comes here, we’re gonna get married. And he was saying, ‘OK.’ So I’m not OK at all. I feel like dying right now [sic].”

Niles, 27, broke the news on a night out with the Ghana native, telling her that they needed more time together in person.

“I don’t think we can necessarily do it on this trip,” he explained. “I want to give you the best that I possibly can and there’s just not enough time for getting to know you. So getting married on this trip … I can’t, I can’t exactly do that.”

Matilda was angry and questioned why Niles allowed her to tell her family and start the wedding preparations. “Like, right now it’s like disgracing to me. People will laugh at me,” she replied. “So what do you want me to tell them?” The U.S. native told Matilda to show off the ring he gave her earlier in the episode as his “commitment” in the future to marry her.

“I don’t know what to do right now. I don’t know what to do right now,” she said before she abruptly got up and walked out of the venue. “It’s like I’m confused right now. I need to calm down first because I don’t know what is going on right now.”

Niles introduced his relationship with Matilda on season 7 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, which premiered on TLC in September. Niles met Matilda more than two years ago through social media. “She just slid in my DMs out of nowhere, at first I thought it was too good to be true because she was very beautiful,” he explained during the premiere. “When she smiles, it does make you feel a type of way, not just because of her beauty either.”

Niles initially doubted that “love was possible” for him because of his autism spectrum disorder diagnosis. “She says that she accepts me for who I am. She makes me feel that I’m someone worthy of having a marriage, having a family, and you know that’s really all I have ever wanted.”

Despite proposing to her more than five months ago, Niles knew he wasn’t ready for marriage. He felt anxious about revealing his true feelings, especially since she had already begun planning the wedding. “I’ve been telling my friends about our wedding,” she told him via video call. “You will not disappoint me.”

However, this only heightened Niles’ anxiety. “Matilda is the love of my life. But I have not told her I don’t want to get married on this trip,” he shared in a private confessional.
