Amanda Holden has addressed claims she's replacing Cat Deeley on This Morning.

The 53-year-old Britain's Got Talent judge was tipped for the famous This Morning hosting job after Woman's Own magazine claimed viewers "haven't taken" to Cat. Cat now hosts the ITV daytime show with Ben Shephard, following Holly Willoughby's exit last year.

Amanda insisted on Thursday (November 14) she wasn't about to ditch her Heart Breakfast show for This Morning. Her co-star Ashley Roberts asked her about the rumours: "I saw this morning some rumours stirring about you replacing Cat Deeley on This Morning. What's the tea?"

Amanda replied: "Do you know what? I’m really glad you’ve asked me this. First of all I absolutely love Cat Deeley, super successful, I’ve always admired her.

Amanda has denied rumours she's replacing Cat on This Morning

Praising Cat, she continued: "She’s brilliant, she’s a real laugh and I hate seeing headlines that say I’m taking over from Cat Deeley when I think she’s doing such a good job on This Morning."

"It’s categorically 100% made up by a journalist. Complete rumours. I am already on the biggest morning show in the country and that is Heart Breakfast, thanks to our lovely listeners. So I don’t know where it’s come from, it’s categorically not true."

Cat took over from Holly Willoughby on This Morning

Back in 2017, Amanda expressed a keen interest in the gig. She told Huffington Post: "I loved every minute. Holly is incredible but if she ever does finally hang up her stilettos, that's the job I'd really want to be considered for."

Cat hasn't discussed the rumours herself but previously admitted she'd quit any job if she "hated" it and it was necessary for her mental health. She told Grazia: "I don’t feel particularly vulnerable. And I’d always think about my own mental health.

Amanda said she's "always admired" Cat

"If something was affecting me, or I hated going into work, I’d walk away. It’s more important that I enjoy what I do."

This Morning's ratings have reportedly fallen, with one episode dipping below 700,000 viewers. However, many viewers have praised Ben and Cat for their hosting stint thus far.
