After American Pickers star Danielle Colby shared a family member's health struggles, she revealed the advice Mike Wolfe has given her.
The two reality TV stars cohost the show on the History Channel. The program follows them as they scour the country for forgotten gems in junkyards and basements, and recycle and renovate them while meeting quirky characters along the way.
Colby—who is also a burlesque dancer and an OnlyFans model—previously took to Instagram to reveal she was "heartbroken" after having to cancel upcoming burlesque performances because of her family member's ill health. Now, while sharing a video of what keeps her grounded during a difficult time, she said Wolfe has suggested she knock out a wall in her home.
Newsweek emailed a spokesperson for Colby for comment on Thursday outside of normal business hours.
"Working in my greenhouse today. I'm sharing my happy place with you. Sometimes when I'm deep in my feelings, I just need to touch dirt. It's cool to watch things grow. I feel like I'm in a cocoon state lately so I take inspiration from seeing my plants grow and thrive and endure life cycles," she captioned an Instagram video of the plants in her home.
Colby said she found it "interesting" watching how pets and guests interact with the greenery. While she doesn't know much about plants, she said watching hers grow has provided her with a sense of accomplishment.
She continued: "@mikewolfeamericanpicker said I should knock out the windows and return it to the original outdoor living space but I can't. I just love the green house smell. But I am torn... should I knock out the windows and return it to the original outdoor living space or should I keep the greenhouse? I do love Mike's idea..... an outdoor fire pit could be amazing since we do have a wood burning stove there already. But where would I put my plants?..... I'm torn."
Friends and followers in the comments told Colby to ignore Wolfe's advice, with many saying it sounds like Colby is happy with how her home is currently.
"Nooo. I looove that greenhouse, it dooooes feel like a coocoon. And it's your cats safehouse. I mean, you do you and your house will forever be the most cozy place ever. But that spot is sooo amazing. I loved being there when I last visited," one person wrote.
"Sounds like the greenhouse is bringing you joy and peace. Maybe it would be good to honor that for now and just enjoy that space. You can always be making other plans for your outdoor space in the meantime," another commented.
A third added: "I say do what would bring you the most joy if there's room off the greenhouse can you add the firepit nearby and add an entrance from the greenhouse to the firepit?"
This post comes after Colby shared an update about her family member's health struggles and explained she would only be traveling for American Pickers.
"I am heartbroken to let you know that I will not be able to join all of you in New Mexico for Dr. Lucky's Blue Review," she said in a video she uploaded, referring to a premiere grown-up variety show.
"That date that I was going to be there is December 20th and 21st. Unfortunately, we have had some very serious health issues happening within my family. I really don't want to get too much in detail because it's not my health I'm speaking of. I'm OK, I'm fine, but my family needs me right now.
"For the foreseeable future, I will not be traveling for performances, I'll only be traveling for American Pickers and, outside of that, being here for my family."
She continued: "Maybe, at some point, things will balance out hopefully and I'll be able to get on the road again for burlesque, but until then, I'm going to miss you guys, I love you and I appreciate you and get out there and celebrate. Go out and see all of the shows you can but especially Dr. Lucky's Blue review in Las Cruces, New Mexico."
In November, Colby took to her Instagram page to ask fans to send "healing energy" to her sister, but did not detail what had happened to her.
"Please send love, light and healing energy to my baby sister Annie today. We will be raging it again in no time Sister," Colby wrote alongside a throwback photo of the pair posing together while hugging.
Colby also posted a photo of her extended family to her Instagram stories with the caption, "spending time with the family today."
