Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes revealed that they put a lot of thought into their decision to bring their daughters to the Jingle Ball red carpet.

Five days after Amy, 51, and T.J., 47, walked the Jingle Ball red carpet in New York City on December 13 with her daughter Annalise and his daughter Sabine, the couple opened up about their thought process going into the decision during the Wednesday, December 18, episode of their “Amy & T.J.” podcast.

“We had to have a discussion with our kid before we walked out on a red carpet,” T.J. explained, adding that “they didn’t have to do it at all” if they didn’t want to.”

T.J. added that the outing was “no small thing” and that “a discussion had to be had ahead of time.”

While both Annalise, 18, and Sabine, 11, wanted to pose for photos with their parents, T.J. admitted he was “still a little nervous about it.” He added, “But Sabine gave me the thumbs up on the OK.”

Meanwhile, Amy pointed out that the event at Madison Square Garden was “the first time” they brought their daughters out on a red carpet.

“Obviously, it’s only been a year since the two of us were on the red carpet, so for us to go on the red carpet with one of our daughters — a piece altogether, the four of us standing there, that was a decision,” she said.

Amy continued, “We talked to our daughters about it, and everybody was okay with it. And so we went for it.”

While both Amy and T.J. were nervous about making their red carpet debut with Sabine and Annalise, their daughters were much calmer about the experience. “That wasn’t just something that we didn’t give deep thought to before we walked out on that red carpet,” Amy said.

Amy shares Annalise and daughter Ava, 22, with ex-husband Tim McIntosh. Meanwhile, T.J. shares Sabine with ex-wife Marilee Fiebig and daughter Brianna and son Jaiden with his first ex-wife, Amy Ferson.

The couple previously grew close while working together on Good Morning America, and they sparked dating rumors in November 2022 when she was still married to Andrew Shue and he was married to Marilee, 47. After their romance was revealed, both Amy and T.J. insisted that they were in the process of divorcing their spouses before they started dating.

In light of the scandal, the cohosts were placed on hiatus from GMA3 and were ultimately let go from the show in January 2023. They went on to launch their podcast together in December 2023.

Amy and T.J. revealed that they were living together in October, though a source exclusively told In Touch that their “new living arrangement hasn’t been as seamless as either hoped.”

“Moving in is a huge step and it’s proving to be quite an adjustment for both of them. With their big personalities, the tension is starting to build!” the source added.
