"Our beloved friend and co-anchor Ana Orsini passed away unexpectedly last week," Tyler began as they struggled to get through the announcement. "Ana had been here at 13 News since June of 2023", Carsyn added, as she struggled to hold back the tears, "We are devastated by this loss."
Carsyn was unable to hold herself together and eventually began to weep, leaving Tyler to continue the tribute to Ana, all while holding Carsyn's hand throughout. "We had the opportunity to work with every day and we do want you to know that what you saw with her on-air, the funny, crazy person she was," Tyler added, "she was just like that off camera and more so."
Eventually Carsyn was able to recentre herself and pull herself together to read a tribute from KOLD itself following Ana's death.
The news was confirmed following investigations into her death, which said that Ana's passing was of natural causes. The up-and-coming news star was aged just 28 when she passed away, triggering a wave of shock and grief to those who had worked with her.
During the broadcast, Tyler and Carsyn sported pink in honour of Ana, who would regularly wear a variety of pink dresses in the programme. After the bulletin ended, both Tyler and Carsyn shared their own touching tributes to Ana on their own social media.
Writing on his Facebook page, Tyler commended Ana for her tireless work, describing her as "one of a kind". He also revealed she had a passion for caring for animals, and was also "fiercely dedicated to her family", as well as sporting a fantastic sense of humour.
Similarly, Carsyn penned that she could not believe Ana had passed away so suddenly. "Ana was unlike anyone I've ever met — beautiful, talented, hilarious, and completely genuine," she wrote in the emotional update.
Carsyn also said that Ana was a close friend of hers, even when the cameras stopped rolling, helping to brighten everyone's day where she could. Signing off, Carsyn vowed: "I promise to keep living fully in her honour; rest in peace sister."
