Angelina Jolie recently opened up about the emotional journey she underwent while preparing for her role as opera singer Maria Callas in the upcoming biopic Maria.
In an interview with Vogue Mexico, the actress explained how the process of learning opera helped her confront and release long-held personal pain, including her difficult divorce from Brad Pitt.
As part of the interview, Angelia looked incredible as she posed for a series of sultry snaps for the accompanying photoshoot with Vogue Mexico.
Initially she wore a trench coat with accompanying knee-high boots, which looked sensational, before changing into second outfit.
As part of this wardrobe change, she opted for a sophisticated, plunging square neck dress and later added a brown fur coat.
What has Jolie been working on?
Jolie, 49, revealed how singing allowed her to access a deeper part of herself, saying it was a way to express emotions she had suppressed for years.
"I had to let out my real voice...which carried my private pain," she shared.
Jolie's portrayal of Callas required extensive vocal training, and she spent months learning six of the soprano's most famous arias.
The film focuses on the last days of Callas' life, offering a glimpse into both her professional triumphs and personal challenges.
The actress noted that the role was one of the most challenging she has taken on.
The film, Maria, has generated significant buzz for its potential to earn Jolie accolades, with early praise for her transformative portrayal. It is set to be released theatrically on November 27 before premiering on Netflix on December 11.
In her interview, Jolie also reflected on how the role helped her explore the connection between voice and emotion, suggesting that everyone could benefit from embracing such a powerful form of expression.
"I think we should all feel," she added, emphasizing the importance of truly connecting with one's emotions.
