Angus Cloud’s mom was hit with a lawsuit by the late actor’s alleged ex-assistant, but she calls the matter “frivolous,” In Touch can exclusively report.

According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Jonathan Kim, who claimed to have worked for Angus from September 2021 to July 2023, sued the late actor’s estate and his mom, Lisa Cloud.

Lisa was appointed as administrator of her late son’s estate following his death on July 31, 2023, at the age of 25. In his lawsuit, Jonathan said that he served as a personal assistant for Angus.

He said the actor “promised to compensate” him in the amount of $5,000 per month. “[Jonathan] served as Angus Cloud’s personal assistant, performing administrative tasks, coordinating schedules, arranging travel, running errands, and providing personal support,” the suit alleged.

“Despite [Jonathan’s] performance of services, Angus Cloud failed to compensate [Jonathan] for the services provided.”

The suit accused Angus of breach of contract by failing to pay Jonathan the agreed upon amount.

The suit alleged, “As a direct and proximate result of Angus Cloud’s breach of the oral contract, [Jonathan] has suffered damage in the amount of $115,000.00.”

Angus’ mom fired back at the lawsuit. She demanded the entire suit be thrown out. Lisa’s lawyer argued, “Defendant alleges that any action or inaction by Defendant with respect to the allegations contained in the Complaint was lawful, justified and/or privileged.” In addition, “Defendant alleges that the Complaint is barred in whole or in part because Plaintiff engaged in willful misconduct that precludes [Jonathan] from recovery of [Jonathan’s] alleged damages, if any.”

On top of that, Lisa’s lawyer said, “Defendant alleges that [Jonathan’s] claims for compensatory damages must be offset by monies received from any other source, if any, or must be offset by monies still owed by [Jonathan], or subject to setoff based on the acts and wrongdoing of Plaintiff.” In a separate filing, Lisa called the lawsuit “frivolous” and said that “no contract ever existed” between Angus and Jonathan.

Her lawyer added, “[Jonathan] claims that [Lisa’s] deceased son employed [Jonathan] and there are unpaid wages. No employment relationship ever existed. To wit, [Jonathan], by and through his counsel, has been using the court process to extort a settlement in this matter. First, [Jonathan] attempted in probate court and failed. Now, [Jonathan] has brought this civil action.”

Recently, Jonathan’s lawyer asked to withdraw from the case. The battle is ongoing.

Since taking over his estate, Angus’ mom has had to deal with numerous creditors’ claims filed against the estate. American Express filed a claim for $66,000. Lisa said she agreed to pay $33,000 in a deal with the credit card company.

The actor’s former manager Diomi Cordero filed a claim for $94,000 in alleged unpaid commission that he claimed Angus owed at the time of his death. Jonathan initially filed a creditors claim for $310,000 but Lisa rejected it.

As In Touch first reported, Lisa filed an accounting report that revealed Angus’ assets. The actor had a City National Bank Account with $14,864.86, a Chase Bank savings account with $9,450.10 and an investment account with $77,923.98.

The grand total for the accounts is $102,238.94. Angus also owned 100 percent interest in his company, Action Packed! Inc.

She believed his estate to be worth $892,238.94, due to the value of his likeness and future residuals owed.

The actor died at his family’s home in Oakland, California. The Alameda County Coroner found Angus died from a combination of cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.

Officials determined it was an accidental overdose.

Angus’ family said in a joint statement, “The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.”
