Anthea Turner has revealed she has a “crazy” but “very effective way” of staying slim.
Anthea, who will be taking part in Celebrity Antiques Road Trip on BBC Two tonight, says she is a fan of trying to stay fit without having to do traditional exercise. Instead, her daily routine is a mix of small stretches or simple changes to help keep fit.
This, she says, includes parking the car at the end of the supermarket car park to get in extra steps. Anthea, 64, even occasionally finds herself standing on one leg while brushing her teeth to improve her core.
She even likes to walk around with her shoulders pushed back to engage her muscles. But there is one thing Andrea does that she says may seem a little far - and it’s part of her routine while she is walking her dog.

Speaking to My Weekly, she said: “This is a little crazy but very effective, particularly when walking a pooch with a magnetic attraction to every lamp post, tree, wall corner and random patch of grass.
“To make the best of my Frenchie’s behaviour, I accompany him while wearing a 5kg weight vest, 2kg ankle weights, and 0.5kg wrist weights. So while Soho’s sniffing and rolling, I’m squatting, lunging, and hugging trees.”
Andrea encourages people to “use your full range of movements” during everyday tasks. And when standing up, she encourages using your legs as opposed to helping with your arms.
It comes as pharmacist Abbas Kanani issued advice on how people can “get fitter without trying”. Tips included doing wall push-ups while waiting for the kettle to boil and calf-raises while cooking.

Meanwhile personal trainer Scott Laider told My Weekly that your daily break at work could help keep you fit. He suggested a brisk walk to music that is around 100 beats per minute.
The NHS says walking is an overlooked exercise and that a brisk walk of around 10 minutes a day counts towards the 150 recommended minutes of exercise adults should take part in each week. It says a brisk walk should be when you can talk, but could not sing along to a song.
Another way to stay fit without having to get out and exercise is to squat while brushing your teeth, an expert said. During two minutes of brushing, aim for around 50 squats - although you can start lower at first.
This works the bigger muscles in your legs but also your glutes and hips.
