The rapper who helped create a remix of Baby Shark has been killed

The rapper who found fame for a remix of the catchy children’s Baby Shark has been shot dead after an alleged street theft.

Michael Robinson, 22, died after he was gunned down in Columbus, Ohio after a robber tried to steal his chain. Witnesses say a man opened fired after he refused to give up the necklace.

The music star, known as Ralan Styles, was found bleeding as medics rushed to the scene. They frantically tried to give him CPR but his life couldn't be saved.

The Columbus Dispatch report that Mahamood Hassan was later arrested a charged with his murder. The 24-year-old, previously arrested for trespassing and stealing according to police records, was taken to Franklin County Jail. He will face court on Monday.

The rapper went viral two years ago with his remix of the Korean phenomenon from 2019. His version was watched more than four million times and earned him a record deal with Republic Records.

The musician's brother, also a rapper known as 'Lil Goat', paid an emotional tribute as he posted videos and photos posting of them together on social media. "Not my lil brother man. I'm still waiting for you to call me and tell me this whole thing is a joke.

"My heart is f*****g broken, I'll never be the same. We went from rapping at the lunch table together in middle school, to becoming superstars.

"We slept on the floor together, we ate together, we fought together, signed our first deal together. I love you bro, and as long as I'm alive you'll never die. Watch over me. Rest in peace to my lil brother. Save me a spot up there my heart."

The rapper's friend Jared Krumm also post on Instagram hours after he was killed. He wrote: "Lost you way too young' Over the past two years [my brother] Jake and I got to experience the funny, energetic, and talented person that you were,' he wrote.

"'There was never a dull moment with you whether we were in the studio, chillin in Jake's basement, or even just riding in the car to McDonald’s. You had an energy that will NEVER be forgotten."
